This is the first time ever that I am making a strategic decision to not upgrade MacOS and iOS.

He's a frontend dev, so part of the job. Not everyone has the luxury to write off/skip QA for Edge.

Thank you for highlighting this. As I fan, I hold my nose watching the sport while knowing how deep the corruption runs.

I'd love to pay for Youtube if they eliminated tracking/profiling. Not having ads is not enough of an incentive here.

Agreed. It would seem to me that time would be better spent on core services. Why be knee deep in something that is already becoming a commodity?

Perhaps the real fear is the community degrading the way of Digg or Reddit? Personally, I chuckled at the comment. However the thought of HN being overrun by hordes of interwebz meme spitting, boob picture posting trolls did cross my mind. One thing that holds true for any community...don't feed the trolls.
Re:Ask HN: How do you manage your news reading time?

It's an important lesson not to feed the trolls. Some people have way too much free time on their hands. Anyone wanting to remain productive cannot fall into the flame war trap.

I would highly suggest you get a license to feature the lyrics on your site if you intend on going mainstream. Aside from legal troubles you could face, I think intellectual property should be respected. Using someone's copyrighted material without their consent is never ok.
Re:How Crocs Rakes in Revenues From Ugly Shoes

I like the fact that Crocs are anti-bacterial, but it also worries me. The use of anti-bacterial soap and other cleaning products in hospitals has spawned super bugs resistant to known means of combating pathogens. Could Crocs share the same fate?
Re:40GB for $55 per month: Time Warner bandwidth caps arrive
on Tuesday June 03, 2008 @02:18PM (#208167)
5GB for $29.95 is hardly fair. Web hosting companies have found ways to increase bandwidth and keep plan prices at same or lower levels. Why can telcos do the same? $5.99 per GB is a ripoff. I have already called Time Warner Cable and warned them that if they implement bandwidth caps in my area, I will discontinue their service. I have other options in my area like Speakeasy or wireless internet providers.
