It's absolutely wild that you're equating the rights of a person to the rights of a corporation. Corporations impact all of us whereas a person using a VPN to remain anonymous is protecting themselves from corporations.

It blows my mind how much these large firms have totally dropped the ball. It's like IBM levels of decline.

As a US citizen, it's pretty wild to live through. Socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for the rest of us.
The subway cars on the tracks all need to go there yesterday.

> To summarize a big complicated thing in a nutshell, a market system is pretty neat because market forces are determine the price (a reflection of the value) of goods and services in an unplanned manner. It's a system that takes in information, and the various actors in the system respond accordingly. It's never 100% accurate, but given enough time and stability, it's usually pretty close.

No. A massive majority of the prices of things in the US are distorted by the government or the Federal Reserve. Agriculture is propped up by the government, the prices of healthcare are distorted by capitalist interests, landlords have benefited from lax government oversight, the railway workers strike was made illegal by Biden.

The list goes on and the prices are a reflection of these distortions. To say prices reflect reality is to be delusional to the political situation.

Reminds me of Fargo Season 2 when the muscle/hit man Mike Milligan goes corporate.

please don't do this, especially if you work with map coordinates.

negative. I use tsc as a safety net, I don't release code that doesn't pass ci/cd which includes a linting/typechecking step. I just know that sometimes it's faster/easier to do an exploration without strict typechecking.

ah, I do TDD. easier to let tests give me runtime and behavioral feedback instead of refreshing/setting up hot reloads. I could see how it's frustrating without that.

Re:Vercel announces Turbopack, the successor to Webpack on Tuesday October 25, 2022 @09:30PM (#33338594)
use webpack for bundling and typescript for typechecking. not that far off from the typescript + babel workflow and way less overhead. just use tsc as a linter.

https://iamturns.com/typescript-babel/

and someone else pointed out that esbuild drops typechecking.

Americans fundamentally do not believe that the government can be used to make your life convenient. Average people believe technologies like the Internet and GPS were invented by private industry rather than government.

Since we're talking about DOTA. Defense of the Ancients was a custom map game in Warcraft III. I don't know if this is still a thing, but custom map games on Starcraft and Warcraft III absolutely ruled. There was freeze tag, capture the flag, tower defense, a zombie defense like game based on Starship Troopers. Absolute golden age of gaming for me as a kid.
