Re:Diagnosing the Steel Failure in the SF Transit Center on Wednesday October 30, 2019 @02:28PM (#21400900)
This is what happens when non-engineers try to do engineering related things. There's a lesson here for all the not-coms in SF pretending to be software companies.

What a colossal waste of tax payer money - not that SF or the wider general California population care.

Bullshit. People that actually use linux won't ever get fired. K8s hipsters definitely will be fired. EOS.

K8s is a dying over hyped pos.

Corey is so right on this. It's only a matter of time before all these vc funded k8s shops die. (They won't be acquired.) All the k8s users themselves will have to return to their barista jobs.

it's still in the k8s ecosystem - the entire ecosystem is a disaster
Re:Warp from Cloudflare, from Hype to Scam on Saturday September 28, 2019 @12:10AM (#21098385)
+1 for calling cloudflare out on this - so sick of San Francisco scams nowadays

I think we are going to start seeing quite a lot more 'k8s is insecure' posts in the future (not that we haven't seen quite a bit this past year alone).
Re:A Kubernetes/GKE mistake that cost me thousands of dollars on Thursday September 19, 2019 @11:46PM (#21023186)
it might surprise you that most devops/sysadmins don't use k8s/docker and think it's a disease - some of us are brave enough to speak our minds against the brownshirts that want to tear us down
Ansible all the way.

I'm really upset with the way Google let their marketing team run roughshod all over the place with that software. Kubernetes is almost never the tool to use. It's entirely insecure, overly complicated and almost never fits the intended supposed benefit. Worse it feels that the entire CNCF ecosystem is ran entirely by marketing people with "developer evangelists" that have never coded a single line of code in their day - it's a real shame and quite honestly an insult to professional engineers.

learning to develop a good drug habit runs the risk of incurring large costs as well - what's your point?
Re:A Kubernetes/GKE mistake that cost me thousands of dollars on Saturday September 14, 2019 @12:57AM (#20968996)
what is the psychosis in the k8s community where they feel the need to talk about losing thousands of dollars? it's a recurring theme with this community that they think somehow makes them look cool - wouldn't that be a clear sign that they should not be using k8s to begin with?

this community is ripe for implosion - what a joke

Re:A Manager’s Guide to Kubernetes Adoption on Saturday August 31, 2019 @10:24PM (#20850173)
K8s is insecure, heavily marketed by non engineers, and overally complicated for no reason.

Its basically openstack redux yet for the instagram generation.

Most devops people I know think it's a total piece.

If the fanboyism doesn't die down I'd like to see these articles heavily moderated.
