Re:Ask HN: Could you share your personal website here? on Wednesday January 14, 2026 @07:59PM (#46626469)
Brent Deverman's personal website https://deverman.org
Yeah pretty happy with Ghostty and might even switch back to Terminal in MacOS Tahoe since they finally updated it.
I was curious about this they still have an event scheduled in Bangkok next week. lol I remember listening to a podcast with a windsurf representative and they sounded like a super technical team and sounded like they "fell" into coding tools. Guess they were offered more interesting money to work on something else.

Looks like an interesting suite of tools you are building. Put it in my AI backlog to checkout.
Re:My first attempt at iOS app development on Sunday June 08, 2025 @08:26PM (#44220385)
Congrats on building with Swift!
I like the idea of the /now page but I wouldn't assume all your customers know Derek Sivers or want the extra work.

For the resume I'm not looking to publish publicly my resume, I just want to publish enough that it gets someone to contact me for my full resume.

I have noticed this open format for resumes which I quite like and maybe there is something you can do with it:

https://jsonresume.org

Good luck!

Thanks I tried a bunch of my favorite photos in this too.
Re:What is a modern successor to HyperCard? on Sunday June 08, 2025 @10:10AM (#44217131)
As a kid trying to learn how to program HyperCard helped me a lot. I think if I tried to do that today I would either go for web technologies or SwiftUI so I guess I probably wouldn't choose an all in one environment.
Re:Ask HN: Dealing with Vibe Coding Depression? on Friday June 06, 2025 @01:21AM (#44198001)
I'm just trying to keep a frame of mind that there are new problems to solve and bigger problems can be solved by smaller teams of people.
Thanks I'm going to start the grind by commenting here now!
I got sick of my resume content being tied to my resume formatting in Pages, and so I also moved to JSON Resume in order to be able to adjust the visuals faster and because I wanted to be able to automate customizing may resume for each job.
I'm using an editor called Zed and it has an option to create a "new thread from summary" It also shows at the top of the screen how many tokens I have used out of total available so with the combination of that I think it is best to create a new "chat" periodically with a summary.
Markdown is now the go to baseline for importing and exporting text data. I can see how I might want to export some more personal Notes to DayOne and archive some notes I don't need anymore to a more durable storage format. Would welcome this functionality.
Re:Redesigned Swift.org is now live on Thursday June 05, 2025 @11:32PM (#44197609)
This language did stick out to me even though I prefer Swift over Rust.
I was also going to suggest TechinAsia.com
If you are that confident posting this to Hacker News that he won't read this then I don't think he is CTO material. lol
Yeah this seems to make sense. You should have a CTO and CPO is also logical. If your startup is growing fast you should be changing the structure regularly and be ready to adapt to the change.
Re:Ask HN: Is PostgreSQL better than MySQL? on Thursday April 20, 2023 @12:09AM (#35636286)
I am managing a project where we chose Postgres in Azure to replace our on premises Oracle.
