This is like sci-fi thing. We are reaching a point where it feels like we are in one of those stories. It's not as cool and dark, nor we have cybernetics resolved, but from AI perspective and sci-fis I watched, Pantheon is currently the closest thing except instead of UAs, we have AI instead.
Re:Lucasart's Afterlife on Thursday September 17, 2026 @06:34AM (#49738802)
I still play once a year. But now I can reach full omnibulges and love domes in less than an hour. But I remember spending months to survive until I discovered the cheat code (btw if you use too much, it triggers something that I can’t remember, it can mess up the game as a punishment).

The I figured out to let the planet evolve and grow it’s population because then, your afterlife has high demand thus more money, that detail solves the hardest part of the game!

The other insight which came much much later, the better capacity per area is given by the top 2x2 and 4x4 multi color. 3x3 top buildings are badass looking but they offer smaller max capacity for souls, we are aiming in reaching 1 billion souls using the least amount of area so you always have free space to build as demand explode.

Re:Lucasart's Afterlife on Thursday September 17, 2026 @06:21AM (#49738688)
1. Find a map with the maximum amount of buildable space 2. Start the game with the maximum speed to above 5000 years 3. Build Hell first and only 4. Pause, build the portal already thinking in upgraded form. 5. Build long straight roads, columns spaced 4 from each other, avoid crossing 6. Check the sins demand 7. Usually, the green is the most demanded 8. Don’t touch anything about the planet 9. This is key: using green as example, build 2x2 spaced so the neighbor is diagonal, never adjacent. 10. Build your first wave of buildings, and essentials (dystopias, the trams, etc. I assume you know those things) 11. Open the portal, make a lot of money 12. Upgrade the portal, make more money 13. Max capacity reached, starting to lose souls and money, you adjust the building’s efficiency to white for every building manually until you are rich 14. Buildings start to reach its top version and capacity, lock them 15. Activate the bats , y to their guano are excellent to upgrade the buildings. Also keep other disasters away during a grace period 16. Then keep growing, adjusting buildings efficiency, more portals, more buildings 17. You only need half the Hell, to achieve hell’s Omnibulges 18. Then star heaven 19. Follow heaven best practices and you reach to Love Domes very easily and rich af 20. I would only train later in the game. Build the best training school, make it only accept top 10%, left side, watch and leave 20% no lower because it can cause excess oof demons or angels, unless you want to see the a special ending 21. Endings can be quite fun to achieve (then you want to mess up with the planet)
How open source makes it less private?!?
Re:The best relationships are all-encompassing. on Sunday June 07, 2026 @11:39AM (#48435892)
It helps to deconstruct what jealousy is. Is it the fear of losing someone to others? Or is it possessiveness? He or she are mine like property? Or we are simply conditioned to react like that given certain situations that triggers jealousy? I found it’s easier to deal with jealousy once I understood the source of it and treat jealousy like a symptom not the cause.
Re:ICQ will stop working from June 26 on Friday May 24, 2024 @04:21PM (#40470166)
Wow, one of the last vestiges of the original WWW going away.
Indeed very cool I didn't know that you could watch them live!

Great reporting. It's sad the state of affairs and I need to remind myself that those cheap seafood we get from the supermarket maybe coming from these labors.
Re:Explaining the SDXL Latent Space on Tuesday February 06, 2024 @09:54PM (#39283892)
With comfyui, you can do SDXL > SD1.5 or SD1.5 > SDXL, it makes more sense to generate basic image in SDXL Turbo and apply the effects of a checkpoint later.
That would be a great source for training AI.
Re: on Saturday August 26, 2023 @11:05PM (#37279079)
That's cool!
Re:The Leverage of LLMs for Individuals on Wednesday May 10, 2023 @09:26AM (#35887025)
I actually feel in the same way of how GPT-4 has increased my capabilities as an individual than for company. It's insane how fast the idea iterations can be and you can actually execute it pretty fast.
Re:The Problems That Attract the Smartest People on Monday April 03, 2023 @09:37AM (#35423347)
I believe you've touched on the crux of the matter. Corporations can not only censor, but also train AI models utilizing biased data, granting them significant influence over shaping the AI discourse among the general populace. This warrants serious contemplation and discussion.
UX/UI needs some improvement

Re:Cal.com: The Open-Source Calendly Alternative on Tuesday January 24, 2023 @02:54PM (#34509257)
There's an even a freer alternative, not FOSS though.

http://zcal.co

It also allows connection to multiple calendars.

I think I have a similar path. I tried to do everything on my own and it’s just not possible. Now, I map out required skills and then I make a conscious choice of what to outsource or not.

You can find VA or specialist VA to help you with many things. Depending how much you are willing to pay, you can get a more experienced or managed individual.

That also helps you to manage your expenses. For instance, you probably read of people using VAs from the Philippines. Try that out.

Reddit kind of comments :)
Which hosting company are you referring to?
Depending on the size and brand, it's price is similar to "smart TVs". The bigger ones are costlier.
I just use Zoom with Chrome via browser. No need to install it.
Re:Kitsault, Canada’s $50M 1980s ghost town on Friday July 29, 2022 @04:10PM (#32281284)
At least if there's a zombie outbreak, I'd go to Kitsault for refuge.
A lot of people from HN have no CS or engineering background and we can still make a living in the tech world in technical fields.

I think more people should be encouraged to try and jump into tech career if they have the time and resources and encourage them to do; salaries are higher and demand for talents are still pretty high. It can be a life changing experience.

Stop bitching if the OP is a jr / developer or whatsoever. He got a tech job anyway. We should clap for him not be pedantic about it.

Is the helium recoverable?
I think it’s more guaranteed to get the original book content from http://b-ok.org/ then from Amazon. It’s like we are back to the time when piracy has better offers than “official” channels.

How could this had happened?

Re:WHO declares monkeypox a public health emergency on Saturday July 23, 2022 @11:03AM (#32203947)
I don’t understand how HN has become this cesspool of nonsense. It is a news. The virus is spreading. What this has to do with US or China? WTF with you guys.
Re:WHO declares monkeypox a public health emergency on Saturday July 23, 2022 @11:02AM (#32203933)
What “BS” are you referring to? This is just a news.
Now I usually stay in Sonders and hotels. Better prices and similar locations and more stable outcomes. Hotels and Sonders won't cancel you last minute.
Re:Polio Detected in US on Friday July 22, 2022 @01:46PM (#32194903)
Engineers are just human as others. Engineers is not equal to be rational in other areas of life.
Re:I regret my website redesign on Thursday July 21, 2022 @03:57PM (#32184152)
I think it's important to establish clear goals before reaching out to freelancers and agencies. The agenda from each one is different than yours.

I learned to get the team focus by writing a brief (commonly used for Brand Managers in big companies) to keep focus on the deliverables. That helps to avoid these type of issues.
