It's time for you to buy a leather tool belt.
Re:EV Sales Are Booming in Europe with Gasoline at $10 a Gallon on Sunday September 27, 2026 @07:41PM (#49871944)
Gasoline would be $0.99 if EV platforms (build your own whatever) and low cost China Auto imports were available in America. But Elon has a hold on congress.
Re:IBM Bob on Friday September 04, 2026 @09:10PM (#49572082)
Bob huh?

That name's a gamble. Go Bob it? I need to ask Bob. Let's Bob for answers. Bob's your uncle. I'll stop now.

Re:The Amazon Tax on Tuesday August 18, 2026 @02:58PM (#49350834)
Amazon is nearly worthless to find anything anymore. Same items repeated dozens to hundreds of times, with minor changes, but all pointing to the same item.

It's like GOogle when ads outweighed your search results. Amazon has become a garbage pit.

Dvorak shaped the emerging PC industry. Larger than life figure. Sad he's not here for the AI takeover.
Great Stary. I wish he could go after the large format printer industry. (The really big printing machines). Those machines are locked for service and require service contracts, and you still can't get under the hood. And when the company decides to obsolete the product, customers are thrown out on their backsides.
Re:OpenPrinter on Monday July 06, 2026 @12:03AM (#48800506)
Does HP make money on printer sales? Ink is cash cow.
Re:Elastic lays off 7% of employees on Wednesday June 24, 2026 @08:04PM (#48667085)
For the good of the company we are reducing force by 7% even though those people we fired were instrumental in helping us grow. Insensitive PR tripe.
Re:Leaving Mozilla on Saturday June 13, 2026 @11:31AM (#48518260)
It's easy to leave a place. Harder to stay and fix the things you don't like. How many people regret leaving the place they invested 12+ years, rather than fighting back while in a position to do so?

If you're burned out, no longer fun, we all get it. But don't leave your investment into a product just because some new direction took over unless you plan to kick their backside.

Re:Renault: Electric motors with no rare earths on Friday June 12, 2026 @07:21PM (#48510527)
How soon to see rare-earth-free paired with CATL Sodium batteries? Seems a price war, range war is imminent.
No Patent police makes them nearly worthless. Too costly. Nice framed certificate on a wall, not much else.
Re:Screenshots of Old Desktop OSes on Tuesday May 12, 2026 @09:45AM (#48108211)
Nice walk through history. So many people trying to be the next big thing.
Re:Agents for financial services and insurance on Tuesday May 05, 2026 @09:08PM (#48030918)
Can Agents put Intuit out of business? Asking for a few hundred million Americans tired of their lobbying $$ that killed off IRS direct tax filing.
WHY SWEAT IT? Your brand is a non-black fan. I'd stay with that. Why confuse people. Maybe trademark your fans colors.
Re:John Ternus to become Apple CEO on Tuesday April 21, 2026 @10:11AM (#47849090)
Can't believe they didn't rehire Gil Amelio.
Well, that ends DISCORD. Add to hosts file with 0.0.0.0 DNS

Why would any sane person allow this tracking and cross tracking and selling of our private info? Ridiculous for a commenting service.

WWVB Self Setting Analog clock on Amazon is $34.99. Dozens of styles. No DHCP to configure. It just works. But cool HN try.
Re:Please Just Try Htmx on Thursday December 18, 2025 @04:22PM (#46318945)
What you need is more f-bombs in your article.
Re:I fed 24 years of my blog posts to a Markov model on Sunday December 14, 2025 @02:15PM (#46265876)
Should call it Trump Speech Generator. Loads of gibberish.
Re:Direct File won't happen in 2026, IRS tells states on Wednesday November 05, 2025 @12:10AM (#45819396)
Only in America would citizens allow some CEO run company, like Intuit to rob them blind year after year. Americans are dumb.
Re:Harnessing America's Heat Pump Moment on Friday October 24, 2025 @07:31PM (#45700148)
Installed a Minisplit to heat/cool a 1,000 sqft large work area. My average monthly electricity cost is maybe $30 to heat or cool. The tech in these are amazing.
Re:Testing the Raspberry Pi 500's new mechanical keyboard on Saturday September 27, 2025 @08:41PM (#45400719)
Noisy does not mean good.

Old Cherry keywitches in Wyse Terminals and computers were the best keyboards ever. They had a great feel with barely there faint click. Totally nothing like the CLONK CLICK that people think made those early IBM keyboards popular. I always hated them. If you're copying a keyboard an old Wyse keyboard from say a WY50 terminal or Wyse386 PC clone and copy that.

Re:Airpass – easily overcome WiFi time limits on Sunday June 22, 2025 @09:38AM (#44346879)
AirPass? I had that wrong. Maybe because I just had lunch.
Plans "to invest" can always change. Appears someone has been promised a tax break along with Mar-a-lago chocolate cake.
Sounds like Siemens will be getting a big order for Blood Testing machines.
Re:Mark Zuckerberg Says Social Media Is Over on Thursday April 24, 2025 @11:37AM (#43784030)
sudo nano /etc/hosts page down, add 0.0.0.0 facebook.com 0.0.0.0 linkedin.com 0.0.0.0 adobe.com Ctrl z

Re:Adobe Deletes Bluesky Posts After Furious Backlash on Saturday April 12, 2025 @09:51AM (#43664366)
Adobe has perfected digital blackmail.

After using and promoting their products for years to create our work, the switch off access to view or print any of it unless we keep paying blackmail monthly fees.

I don't want to edit my old work, but to lock me out of viewing it is nothing short of BLACKMAIL. As people change jobs or retire, they lose all access to their work. Sick.

I wish they'd make LibreQuickbooks.
