Re:Apple iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max on Monday September 09, 2024 @07:33PM (#41495466)
Speaking of continuity, how do you get a Youtube video currently playing on the laptop to pause and continue on the iPhone?

Re:Is El Salvador's Bitcoin bet paying off? on Thursday December 07, 2023 @06:27AM (#38555249)
You don't need to "find an entity" to sell just $120m worth of BTC, just click the market sell button and you'll still get a decent price
Re:Unified versus Split Diff on Tuesday October 24, 2023 @09:20AM (#37998810)

But still, the two forms are the similar (same amount of holes). Do you have to view them with a color gradient to consider them different?
Re:Coinbase suspending USDC:USD conversions over the weekend on Saturday March 11, 2023 @04:41AM (#35106888)
Wasn't SVB in 10 year mortgage-backed securities whereas Circle is in 3 month bills?
I'd also assign undefined to 'age' to show that it's not erroring
I think you mean to have undefined after the equal sign, otherwise I don’t see how there could be an error
There must be a mistake in the "Exact Optional Property Types" section?
I’m asking a practical question, not broad economic theories (which are mostly bs).

How does newly created money (which first goes in commercial bank reserves) finally ends being used to buy houses and stocks?

Explaining the mechanics of central banks isn’t as informative as explaining through which specific channels this excess liquidity ends up in assets.
Re:Kraken to end on-chain staking services for U.S. clients on Friday February 10, 2023 @02:42AM (#34736828)

Re:A formula for the n’th digit of 𝜋 and 𝜋^n on Sunday January 15, 2023 @12:32PM (#34391157)
Why is zero different than any other number?
Pretty sure their whole stack was in Python
Proxies and state-mutating getter functions are pretty edge features of JS tbh
The point is about only being able properties marked as pure with special syntax, whatever their implementation
If you’re worried about “30 years from now” you might as well store the decryption software alongside the message
Coinbase and Kraken definitely aren't "a wretched hive of scum and villainy".

Re:Classifying Minds on Monday November 21, 2022 @07:14AM (#33691693)
> If we are creating minds in software

It's the opposite. We'll create software that'll run in our minds.

Install a plugin to overlay data in your vision, run shell commands by just thinking about them, maybe even run a mini neural net that's like a fully private assistant etc.

Re:AWS and Blockchain on Monday November 21, 2022 @06:53AM (#33691565)
Completely agree
Re:AWS and Blockchain on Monday November 21, 2022 @03:38AM (#33690276)
Whether or not the underlying storage mechanism uses a database is not the point.
