I was lucky enough to go an engineering school that required us to take a lot of humanities. In retrospect, I wish I had taken more than the minimum.
I think schools need to do a better job requiring humanities majors to take STEM classes in the same way I was required to take humanities. I have plenty of friends in humanities who took the bare minimum which was only one class (physics for poets or something similar) and a lab (which could be psych or some other soft science).

I find that the harder I try to force myself to code, the worse it gets. I like to try some other creative task that can get the juices going and then come back to coding when I have a really great idea. Obviously in a working environment this doesn't always work.
What _else_ do you find really motivating? Could be writing or painting or making youtube videos. It doesn't really matter as long as you're starting to engage creative muscles that you haven't flexed in a while.

I got a new MBP 15" through work and I was also hesitant about the keyboard, touch bar and trackpad. I previously had a 13" MBP. I actually love the keyboard and trackpad. I find it hard to use the old MBPs with the smaller trackpad. The touch bar is mostly used for spotify and that's about it. Using the FN keys are fine. I wish it wasn't there but I don't think it's a reason not to buy a MBP (if you are willing to spend the money).
