You can already do that. Vibecode your app, build it as an APK file, send it to whoever you want. No Play Store needed. AI can help every step of the way.
Re:Ask HN: Do you still own a printer? on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @10:38PM (#49987388)
I have a Brother laser printer/scanner. I mainly use it for:

- Return labels, if I'm returning an Amazon purchase

- Hard copies of important info when I travel, in case my phone dies

- Occasional times when I'm sent forms that I need to print, sign, scan and send back

It didn't cost much, has never needed maintenance, and the toner lasts a long time. Worth it for the hassle it saves when I need it.

I like the design of https://dbushell.com/blog/

Though mainly I just like the general 50s aesthetics of it, rather than specific UI elements.

I'm curious about this too. This is the first time I've heard of Garmin being a bad company.
For me, using Bluetooth headphones with my (Samsung) phone is smooth and trouble-free. The experience is miles better than wired headphones, and I would never go back. Meanwhile, connecting to my TV with Bluetooth is an exercise in pure frustration.

So it seems to me like the problem isn't Bluetooth, it's shitty implementations of it.

And it's not just cheap devices. My TV is a fancy LG OLED. For the price I paid it should handle Bluetooth just fine.

It's a real shame. When Bluetooth works, it's awesome, but a lot of people have had their opinions tainted by bad devices.

I wish more people had watched Mrs. Davis, it was excellent.
Re:Windows 11 growth slows as millions stick with Windows 10 on Wednesday December 03, 2025 @05:11PM (#46140927)
I wish I'd stuck with 10. I upgraded to 11 and it's just a slower, shittier version of 10.
Re:Known Anomalies in Unicode Character Names on Sunday September 28, 2025 @08:11AM (#45403753)
We can find all the problems in Unicode by making a list of all the non-problematic characters and then circling the ones that aren't on the list.

Amazing news. This was the one thing keeping me from switching from Chrome to Firefox.
Re:Jeep Owners Fed Up with In-Car Pop-Up Ads on Wednesday March 05, 2025 @09:04PM (#43275459)
Is there some kind of database for stuff like this, where people can report abusive products? That would be a great way to avoid such things while also naming and shaming companies who do it.
It was similar for me. I'd get migraines a few times a year. I couldn't find any food correlation, but it seemed to often happen the day after doing strenuous activity, sweating a lot and drinking a lot of water. I started to suspect it was related to lack of electrolytes, so I began taking electrolyte solution after running or any other sweaty activity. In the few years since then, the migraines have been much less frequent, and about half as intense.
Re:Moonwalkers: The World's Fastest Shoes on Friday January 06, 2023 @12:20AM (#34271288)
I did that once. I wanted to go for a run, and I also wanted to buy some soup spoons from Ikea. So I ran to Ikea (about 4km away), and had to walk through the store all smelly and sweaty. It felt inconsiderate to the people around me. Then I ran home holding the spoons. Running while holding things is awkward. So there's two reasons. I haven't done that sort of thing since.

This was funny, a few paragraphs in:

"For Freud, this was just another confirmation of his theories. He wrote in a letter to Fliess:

THIS IS THE FIRST OF YOUR THREE FREE ARTICLES FOR THE MONTH."

Re:Show HN: Remake – Build web apps with HTML on Friday May 14, 2021 @03:25AM (#27151698)
This looks interesting, I might give it a try over the weekend.
If only someone could invent a cryptocurrency that incentivises something good instead of something harmful.

Ingredient from the curry recipe:

What? Just tell me how much goddamn spinach to use.

I love the simplicity of this. If it had a proper editor, I could totally see using this for small prototype webapps.
Re:How Did Software Get So Reliable Without Proof? (1996) [pdf] on Friday September 18, 2020 @03:48AM (#24514055)
It's used to some extent in the aviation industry for flight-critical software. So maybe huge in some contexts.
It's not that it's evil to make money. It's that the most effective ways to make lots of money tend to be unethical, so a company whose sole mandate is to make as much money as possible will tend towards evil acts.
