In theory, if enforced. That has not stopped the behaviors of a majority of the population.

What about all the drivers who take major risks daily by playing with their phones? This makes even legal speeds dangerous, at least these guys were looking ahead and aware of their situation.

It is possible to map most controls in a DAW via MIDI and possibly provide a touch interface, or more tactile controls (sliders and knobs). Live looping for example, only requires a few foot switches.

Some painful combo of Trumpet Winsock/Win 3.1/Netscape at that time if I wanted more than just lynx, all received via xmodem from the local ISPs shell server using Telix. No Google, maybe help from the local NNTP group.
I do remember this project, and using it for maybe a few weeks. They did track seeds and watering, there were limits to prevent a specific area from being watered too frequently. I don't remember much else.

I have had to, on the opposite end, had an Uber take me home/cancel after a few miles because the previous rider had been wearing thick perfume and it was too cold for the driver to drive around with all the windows open. If someone with pet allergies responds the same way I did in a closed environment, I have sympathy for them.

Calling the chip 'DRM' sounds like media sensationalism, it really is just 'dumb memory'. Maybe I think this because I knew exactly how the cartridges worked when I did my initial research on the unit (and knew about the CartridgeGenius as an option before purchase), so I had no surprise when it worked how it did.

Omission is not a lie, these details are left out because you are not supposed to post every detail of your life, especially not the ugly ones, to the mass public (which is what pasting to Facebook is).

I ran Winsock initially on a 386 with 3.1. At this time, the dial-up business was booming and I'm not talking AOL/Compuserve. There were entire websites dedicated to listing and sorting through the hundreds of local ISPs cropping up, who had the latest 28.8 modems, best advertised modem ratios, etc... These companies were all setup well before Windows 95 came around.
Re:Why it's a bad idea to put a CNAME record on your root domain

Not only that, but it trains people who don't read RFCs (or run DNS servers) to believe that configuration is even acceptable in the first place.

You sure don't OWN it. You can lease IP addresses from the registry, but you still don't own them, you can get an Internet connection from a company, but you don't own it, you are leasing the line and bandwidth from the provider.

I'm just not convinced software is that impressive, I've seen 12 year olds write 'complex software' (at least to me), they didn't sure need a lifetime of knowledge and skill to do that.
Hello world might look complex on the wire when you think about the bits, but you didn't build any of those complexities yourself. This guy also didn't have the Internet to copy/paste from.

With photography, at least to me, you don't need the latest and greatest thing.

But it is not instant. This is used when you are making an external HTTP request over the Internet, to a server that may or may not respond instantly (if at all), over a link that may be saturated at any point in time.

Similar to the game he canned, check out Red Power 2 for MC, it's actually got an in-game computer you can program it in Forth, save programs on in-game floppies, and build a giant IO bus to control various things in the game world.
Re:Google Fiber Continues Awful ISP Tradition of Banning “Servers”

Technical reasons? There are none. This is customer/sales driven, normal (non-technical and the majority) customers don't want to bother with technical bandwidth/transfer non-sense.

I'm not impressed, this is 'residential' service we are talking about here.
If you want to host services, get static IP blocks, run BGP, pay more for a business-grade service.

As soon as you get infected or bring a kid back from college and let them torrent like crazy, the bandwidth overage costs get high, fast. I tried this for years with our customers, we're going unlimited because we're tired of arguing with people who can't comprehend this model.

It's no longer a 'copy machine' at this point, it's an 'approximation machine' and can't even be trusted for legal purposes.
