@burntsushi thanks for sharing this. A few of the symptoms you described felt painfully familiar to my aunt who's still undergoing AE treatment and is deteriorating after a short recovery.

She's 59y.o. living in the Philippines and was recently diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis after initially being misdiagnosed as having a mild stroke and later psychosis. She had balance problems and fell down while sweeping the floor. She developed language problems. So she knew what she wanted to say but couldn't get the words out. My mom and I thought it was mild stroke. Over the following weeks she developed seizures, required a feeding tube and ventilator support, and is currently undergoing treatment in Cebu Doctor's Hospital, Philippines.

If anyone here has experience with autoimmune encephalitis, patient advocacy groups, research programs, financial assistance resources, or treatment centers that might be helpful, I would be grateful for any suggestions.

My family has also put together a fundraiser to help cover her ongoing treatment costs if anyone would like to learn more. We'll provide weekly updates and full transparency. Mods, I hope you allow this link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-save-rowenas-life-from-autoi...

If not, my email is in my profile and you can DM me. I can't post pictures of her with her current state because I don't have consent. The one picture I have of her current state is also censored.

It's nature's way of communicating to the next generation. That is crazy and beautiful.
Ghibli! I didn't expect someone would make this comment!
If there's a photo op opportunity I'm sure you would be.
Would you be willing to teach me how to do this. Develop a course from my expertise (programming/python/whatever) for like 20% of the profits?

Exploitative in a sense where old dudes with questionable morals go to 3rd world countries and use their money to do questionable things like have sex with underage individuals or just exploit women in general. Women will tend to be submissive because they can get financial security. Your average joe programmer in HN isn't the usual type to go and stay in another country and try to assimilate properly. A good portion of them are outcasts or losers in their home countries (for a reason) and trying to experience rockstar life in a 3rd world country. That's a cynical take but if you ever to go Philippines/Vietnam/Indonesia you'll see what I mean and remember this comment. Obviously there are exceptional cases where people marry for "love" but usually it's for financial security.

Re:GitHub staff are required to use Teams by Sep 1, 2023 on Monday February 13, 2023 @05:06PM (#34781438)
What is the specific complaint against it? Better yet can you come up with tools that you use instead of Teams? Is it xoom? Slack? Discord? MS is not my favorite company but my MS Teams experience has been relatively smooth.

Are you doing this automatically? or labor is doing the sculpture?
What is the tech stack for this? I really want to build small apps like this and have a diversified portfolio but don't know where to start. Are you still earning 3K/month from this and what kind of on-going marketing are you doing?

Basic mistake. Can't believe this was not corrected in OP. He should write title as "xxxx in Large Language Models (LLM)"
Re:Programmer Salaries in the Age of LLMs on Monday January 16, 2023 @09:58PM (#34408657)
What even is LLM?
Yep. As long as there is clear path to get that 10% back. Problem is most companies still have record years and fire people.
