I would rather let someone else pay the price of maintaining 50k lines of code than to pay the technical debt of 1k loc myself.

No. I clicked here for the same reason.

Hey AI, please change my stolen code in a non-breaking way so that jplag reports less than 1,8% similarity.
> I wouldn't recommend spending under $3,000 for a gaming PC these days

Alternative wording: You recommend to spend more than $3000? There are people out there who don't toss money around as if it's an endless commodity. I spent a friction of that for gaming computers in my entire life.

You seem to like SQL, don't you? Your README reads a bit fallacious: Just because SQL is a great alive language, it doesn't make your language a great one. I think it's called survivor bias.

Since when are thousands of lines of code changes "a small PR"?

+ read books from a native author

That makes you appreciate the beauty of the language!

Re:AI makes the easy part easier and the hard part harder on Monday February 09, 2026 @01:16PM (#46948749)
Why so cynic? This is a serious issue. And media coverage has nothing to do with the immoral state of the art of ignoring copyrights.

Another interesting fact about plot sizes in Europe: You can see within an area which kind of inheritance law was in place: If farming plots are large, usually the oldest son inherited everything. If they are small, they were evenly distributed.

Re:How Vibe Coding Is Killing Open Source on Tuesday February 03, 2026 @05:42PM (#46878429)
I am utterly confused at how you think rewriting entire libraries have less security holes than battle-hardened libraries that 1000s of other people use.

Sudoku*. Suu means numbers in Japanese and Doku means solving here. So literally "number solving".

Re:Nearly all UK drivers say headlights are too bright on Tuesday November 18, 2025 @07:38PM (#45974317)
Defending that particular kind of driver: He might not have known to be the last car. But one thing he knows for sure: a long line of cars in front of him. Speeding up or keeping distance is pointless, so he uses that moment to be friendly instead.
How do you recover democracy when you reunite with a non-democracy?
Spy X Family. Super fun characters
I just read "THE MEMOIRS OF THE CONQUISTADOR BERNAL DIAZ DEL CASTILLO WRITTEN BY HIMSELF"

It's not fiction but it feels like a time warp into a world unimaginable.

Re:Build Your Own Database on Tuesday October 21, 2025 @02:12PM (#45659411)
Store data persistently so it can be looked up efficiently* sounds like a single problem.
Having had grandparents live through WWII (or any other war to be fair) also helps instill this attitude. I can barely imagine what kind of famines they had to endure.

Not sure why this is being downvoted. Alexander von Humboldt did a similar statement in his "Buch der Begegnungen" where he compares and finds cultures from tropical areas to be more "lazy" as all the fruits just grow on their own without any human involved.
Can you elaborate or you call it a day after insulting?
Re:Writing a good design document on Monday August 04, 2025 @08:53AM (#44785122)

The entire post is an application of his document designing philosophy. It became obvious with his first header being "Goal" and him mentioning to set a goal early on.

Re:I'll think twice before using GitHub Actions again on Tuesday January 21, 2025 @03:57PM (#42785093)
Or you can just check if the step was skipped. I don't get the point of the article.

Managing a monorepo with acyclic dependencies is super easy: dornys path filter in one job and the other jobs check

1. whether their respective or any dependency's path got changed 2. and all dependency jobs were either successful or skipped.

Done. No need to write an article.

History is written by the winner. So I would not say that historical records themselves have a value, but historical studies overall including archaeology, cross-checking multiple scripts from different sources.

So noise has always been there as well as methods do deal with noise.
