Up 47% quarter over quarter when the previous quarter was up 145% quarter over quarter and close to that the quarter before. "Growth flattened" is generous.
Re:Anthropic's growth just flattened (really) on Monday November 02, 2026 @08:32PM (#50346838)
It's a combination of natural language being an awful programming language and frontier ai companies optimizing for longest time horizon at 50% success. I mean what did they expect? Length of time to not check in and still bumble around to turn a single prompt into a literal half-assed solution.
Re:Postgres 19 is late, and it's AI's fault on Monday November 02, 2026 @08:03AM (#50336276)
LLMs throw false positives all the time. They're bullshit machines.
A cynic might opine that an AI shill is not a great source of unbiased review of an article. The article is about a biweekly survey of companies and the trend was clearly dropping. This isn't about token use by tokenmaxxers increasing. And it isn't about the opinions of the folks you hang out with when you're flown to conferences to gush about AI. It's a survey of businesses. And aside from programming and math, AI sucks. Even in programming and math it's a tool with a lot of downsides.
The balance is clearly out of whack in favor of capital.
Re:Pi Is the Last Harness on Sunday November 01, 2026 @10:37AM (#50326656)
> Just think about how many user interfaces can be completely replaced.

Which ones? I don't see a single interface that can be replaced reliably. Complimentary maybe, but definitely not replaced. Would be interested to hear your opinion. It seems that even coding harnesses are a poor replacement for an ide. Drastically less information and if you think code doesn't even need to be read to be understood... Well, I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on that one. I think it needs to be engaged with at least as much as it was when written. Reading is the bare minimum.

Re:Restrooms along the Norwegian Scenic Routes on Sunday November 01, 2026 @10:32AM (#50326598)
Companies should make the day a holiday even if dipshit Trumpublicans won't make it a federal holiday. Consumers shouldn't shop on voting Tuesday and companies that don't shut down their shops on Tuesday should be boycotted. If you are a company that doesn't recognize you've been given more handouts than your employees then f u.

The most important thing any country can do in this time is break up media conglomerates and broad function internet companies.
Re:Building an AI-native engineering org on Saturday October 31, 2026 @11:44AM (#50317225)
That would require LLMs continuously learn, and that's just not how they work.
Re:Digital Minimalism on Saturday October 31, 2026 @11:24AM (#50317002)
Musk clearly turned it into a Balkanization project.
No, read the abstract.

This is to decrease time to clinical eval and intervention.

Re:Building an AI-native engineering org on Friday October 30, 2026 @09:54PM (#50312497)
It was trained on that declining quality. Now it's just digging faster.
You don't honestly think the software industry alone is large enough to support all the checks Anthropic has been writing, do you? Especially after software devs start to realize how much crufty rot these the agents generate while they aren't looking.
These are references to an excellent, hilarious, and sadly more relevant than ever, movie:

Idiocracy (2006): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiocracy

Re:Fair Use Benefits Everyone on Friday October 30, 2026 @08:05PM (#50311794)
> Does building a business around the automation of fair use constitute fair use? I would say no.

This seems like an excellent and very clear distinction. Once it becomes a wholesale harvesting and processing for financial gain, it stops being fair use.

Re:Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance on Thursday October 29, 2026 @10:27PM (#50299147)
Or you could just get real money and keep it in a bank.
Re:Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance on Thursday October 29, 2026 @10:24PM (#50299127)
And lots of museum-quality art. And a few oligarch condos.
Re:Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance on Thursday October 29, 2026 @10:20PM (#50299104)
Pretty sure you can get a metaverse for dirt cheap these days. Still, no one has figured out why you'd want one.
Re:Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance on Thursday October 29, 2026 @08:59PM (#50298588)
Welp, I guess crypto is still like if you let banking services be run by amateur tech bros.
That's why the question was whether it gave sources, not whether they asked it to go check sources. Yeah, LLMs suck and you should always assume false information. 80% accurate is not production ready.
Re:Nvidia and Micron Make Up 34% of America's Earnings Boom on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @12:41AM (#50269415)
In theory.
Re:Amazon Is Gutting Its AI Division After Sustained Failure on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @09:40PM (#50268329)
Wait... Are anthropic and openai just commodity suppliers? Because dry cleaners and car washes both need soap, but I've never heard of a trillion dollar soap company.
Re:Amazon Is Gutting Its AI Division After Sustained Failure on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @06:06PM (#50266509)
Or AI has been over promising and under delivering for half a decade. Amazon is just one of the dominos. This is a hedge by Amazon.
No one has been saying LatinX for years. Why the anti-lib propaganda from 2022? Are y'all really that desperate to connect with folks?
Point is, nothing changes if you're just sitting on the internet complaining.
If everyone who threw up their hands actually voted, the outcome would change. See also, the elections musk tried to buy in the last 18 months or so since he doged up the place.
I don't think we have seen an Apple of AI yet. I wouldn't describe the frontier that way, would you?
Re:Why Washing Machines Took Decades to Catch On on Sunday October 25, 2026 @03:34PM (#50235257)
I never said AI bad, bro.
Re:Why Washing Machines Took Decades to Catch On on Sunday October 25, 2026 @12:25PM (#50233283)
Ruh roh. AI bros and their hundreds of billions of dollars in loans don't have decades.
Re:We should be more ambitious with the software we build on Sunday October 25, 2026 @12:18PM (#50233193)
Sounds like a trillion dollar company idea to me! The AI tech bros should get busy on that ASAP!!
