Maybe I’m just bad at it, but it’s been 16 years since I gave up my blackberry and I’m still way less accurate with touch screens. This is across flagship phones from both android and iOS.
I believe there were pieces of a plan. This global energy shift gambit being one of them. I don’t think there was a unified strategy with contingencies etc though (if there was it certainly wasn’t very good).
Not sure where you get the shaky regime idea, but Iran was not on the verge of collapse from protests prior to the war. It may have been on the verge of more aggressive clamping down from the IRGC, but collapse wasn’t around the corner.
I think you contradicted yourself. If a tool provides better value for the time spent for a company, I don’t understand how you can call it objectively bad.
You can say it’s objectively bad from a technical perspective, but clearly that’s only one part of the equation.
I found an extension for Safari called SinkItforReddit and it does an ok job of making old Reddit usable on mobile. I still fatfinger some clicks, but I’m stubborn and refuse to use the new site. My main gripe with it is less about the UI and more that the content ordering feels more obscured, whereas old site shows me the fairly basic heuristic algorithm for content order.
Yep, it feels like forever a niche market. As soon as you think about it like fundamental infrastructure (which as I understand it is what we’re supposed to think about) it quickly becomes obvious that cables are better suited. Wealthy enclaves, digital nomads etc will pay for it, but that’s not going to get the revenue they’re hoping for.
You set up the base station over a known point, and now your rover unit can give you cm level accuracy when it's within range of the base station (UHF radio range generally).
For a practical application, let's say you wanted to lay out crops for a small hobby farm. This can make getting your base station set up, because you might not care as much about absolute location, which would require finding a surveyed benchmark. Instead you put your base exactly on the corner of your plot, and after setting up a local grid system you can now exactly layout your farm according to your plan. You simply walk around with the rover unit and can get real time cm accurate "coordinates."
Not a great interface, but estimated query plans can be pretty useful for getting a feel for how heavy a query will be.
My high school had an on property smoking area until around 2003. The east coast of Canada can be pretty backwards I guess..
Any good examples of the force click use? I use mine to look up definitions/Wikipedia in safari but beyond that I haven't found much use for it.
I wish I could make it open links in a new tab (like middle click on a mouse) instead of that annoying preview thing.
I mean, I'm pretty sure that is social engineering, doesn't make them any less of an asshole though.
This article spends more time discussing observable differences with the next generation and less on deeming them doomed.
The majority of articles out there fit your statement, but I think this one is worth the read.
I would probably buy custom tailored everything if price weren't a factor. I have annoying proportions so most mass produced clothes seem to fit me poorly.
I don't think it would be that much of a hassle, simply have all your measurements taken and keep that on file somewhere. Whenever you go to buy new clothes submit that info and get your nicely fitted t-shirts.
Yeah those are good points. Also I realized that we have a "subscription service" with indoor plumbing through paying for water. There's no reason something like this couldn't be paid for through a tax which would encourage wide scale adoption.
Would a 512mb RAM DO server be enough for this? I've been looking for an alternative to a VPN for a while, but it would only be cost effective with the $5 option.
