Re:30 spies dead after Iran cracked CIA comms network on Sunday November 04, 2018 @03:32PM (#18377939)
Holy shit. I can't believe some of what I just read. Although it appears this was in the late 80's, so I suppose it makes more sense factoring that in.

This also looks a bit like a less polished version of "The Swapper": http://facepalmgames.com/the-swapper/
Re:Coinbase raises $100M Series D led by IVP on Thursday August 10, 2017 @06:58PM (#14985142)
The real value is in the underlying technology of the platform, the blockchain. Instant, secure transfers of value to anyone in the world at minimal cost with a publicly auditable ledger. There are also many cool things that can be built on top of the tech, including secure online voting: https://followmyvote.com/online-voting-technology/blockchain...
Re:Bitcoin is tumbling – Off almost 40% from its high on Thursday June 15, 2017 @06:20PM (#14564946)
The extreme volatility is why BTC was never intended to be used as an investment tool. @aantonop has stressed this over and over again.
Not sure what to take away from that...
Re:Ask HN: What is the best VPN provider? on Sunday April 02, 2017 @04:00PM (#14018751)
I like IVPN. Based in Gibraltar, excellent bandwidth, plenty of servers, accepts Bitcoin, uses OpenVPN.
Re:The FBI Can Now Legally Hack Everywhere Around the World on Sunday December 04, 2016 @02:26PM (#13101325)
That article is a fascinating read.
Sure, I noticed an immediate difference when I cut back on extraneous sugar content like soda and junk food. I also lost about 15 pounds over the course of a month. I noticed a mild withdrawal but once you get past that and as time goes on, you crave it less and less. The human body does need a certain amount to function but those amounts are easily obtained via a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Re:Do engineers really make better spouses? on Tuesday April 14, 2015 @10:14AM (#9374362)
Well I suppose I'm an outlier; software engineer with 100% divorce rate so far. :-p
Re:“Seeking 100K but I'm negotiable” on Friday August 08, 2014 @04:16PM (#8154812)
I totally agree with this. If you know you are worth what you are asking for in salary, you are more apt to get it if asked with confidence.
Ditto. I hate the spam submissions.

Re:Crytek USA Collapses, Sells Game IP to Other Developers on Thursday July 31, 2014 @09:03AM (#8113791)
What? Polygon just posted an article the other day saying they had sorted out their financial issues.
The thing about Elon Musk is if he says he'll do it, he WILL do it.
Re:FBI: Google's driverless cars could be lethal weapons on Thursday July 17, 2014 @02:51PM (#8049414)
ANYTHING can be a lethal weapon if used improperly. SHUDDUP Gubmint.
Still an amazing game for its time. Replayed recently on iPad.
I could not read that article without becoming thoroughly enraged. How can they make rulings on these kinds of cases with such an incredible lack of understanding of the subject matter.
I hate to state the obvious but...is anyone going to want to use a product generated by NSA employees? Their crypto skills aside?
I can verify my own identity, thanks
Just like Google, I'm sure they only admit the best of the best. However, if the skills, creativity, and out-of-box thinking that they desire are present, it shouldn't matter where you went to school. You either have "it" or you don't.

Re:Ketamine 'exciting' depression therapy on Thursday April 03, 2014 @11:38AM (#7523550)
I don't know why they reference it as an "Illegal Party Drug". It has been used in veterinary and human medicine forever.
Re:A software engineer's website on Wednesday March 05, 2014 @03:07PM (#7349504)
Yup. Saurik is an Obj-C whiz but seemingly humble.

Same here but on Government system(pre-configured, castrated version of IE8) where Javascript is disabled entirely. Strange though because http://www.rleonardi.com/interactive-resume/ which uses quite a bit JS/JQuery displays mostly fine with a few quirks.
