Not him, but I use lossy because phones have small capacities and I can't be bothered to have lossless on pc + lossy on phone.
Re:CIA Now Favors Lab Leak Theory to Explain Covid's Origins on Saturday January 25, 2025 @06:47PM (#42826173)
Ok. But I'm saying it's almost impossible that no one knows, as the parent comment suggests.

Edit: my original comment was not intended to be a reply to you, but to the parent.

It would be trivial for the Chinese to determine if covid 19 matches with what they were investigating in the lab, and if the people in the lab were among the first infected.

Idk, I use cursor which is a proprietary commercial VS code fork and it just works. So clearly the license/OSS situation is very workable.

In nileblue he doesn't talk like this. So clearly intentional.
I always use showdead. There's not a lot of dead comments, but I often (maybe 1 every 4) have to vouch for them.

What you call moderation is also a tool dictatorships use to censor people. It goes both ways.
It should be up to the legislators and justice to limit cops power, and punish them when appropriate.
VLC is only praised in "normie" places. It is hated in places like anime forums, 4chan, etc.

What does this mean?

Windows is high reliability. The problem here is what's basically a third party backdoor.
It's so far behind though. Linux still doesn't support VRR or HDR.
My mom's PC is plenty fast, and works flawlessly. She has an i7 4790k.

She probably wouldn't mind upgrading to windows 11, but she can't because MS decided that you must have TPM.

Windows 10 will be EOL in a year.

These companies will bs you about how eco friendly they are, but they expect you to throw a perfectly fine computer into the trash.

Most distros can't even recover from a shutdown while updating (windows handles it since Vista).
It's a joke referencing a quote in the video.

You can fix async await with express by just installing a package.

Gold was used as a currency for ages, and it's similar to bitcoin (limited amount with a bit of gold being mined every year)
Re:The $10k BYD Seagull EV is scaring the U.S. auto industry on Wednesday April 10, 2024 @12:11PM (#39992346)
It should worry the EU industry more. People in the US don't buy city or compact cars. They buy bigger and more premium ones.
If you are this deep into it, it doesn't matter.
Is it? Every user profile in every website is a page. Every single tweet is a page.

More like 20 minutes to charge that much in something like a model 3.

This announcement only mentions safety. What else do you expect to talk about?

Can you share the training loss curve?
It's more expensive so they are greedier.

> If you're on an os from 2018 you're clearly not really dependent on the latest versions of everything.

I'm on Windows 10 which is from 2015. I want the latest software, but an older more stable OS (not Windows 11 yet).

It's true that Windows 10 has had big updates (builds). But maybe that's the right approach?

Re:Tesla sues Swedish state agency over number plate blockage on Monday November 27, 2023 @07:42AM (#38431623)
Tesla isn't demanding the postal union to ship them the plates, they are demanding to be allowed to pick up the plates by themselves.
Re:Moving from AWS to Bare-Metal saved us 230k$ /yr on Thursday November 16, 2023 @04:10PM (#38295588)
Going from AWS to something like hetzner would be most of the way there probably.
That's kind of irrelevant because these AI models will exist no matter what. The difference is if anybody will be able to train one, or just giants like Sony will be able to train one because they'll deal with the licensing.
Re:Is this radical redesign of GIMP possible now? on Saturday November 11, 2023 @03:21PM (#38234135)
It'd be better to fork it and hire a new dev, than throw money at the devs that don't understand their own product.
The car I bought is from Mexico so I guess that answers the question.
