Malicious actors currently don't seem to behave much more careful than biters in Factorio, so this should align pretty well. To be fair, biter are usually not inside your base / in office.
What does political affiliation have to do with this specifically?
Also, I'm sure there's ample source material to cement this claim?
I wouldn't call diagnosing people for actual medical issues we learned about since the 70s an en vogue thing. Other than those, it's pretty much just vegan / non-vegan.
Levelling the playing field either backfires spectacularly or increases overall safety dramatically.
Similar, yes, but instead of finding out who else can give you money at 10 people, they have to find out who else they have to give money at 10k people. Leads and lobbies.
That certainly doesn't help but I'd imagine their traffic in general spiked massively with agentic interactions as well?
And you can get all that for the low price of just $199/mon on your new glasses subscription!
Which is fair. If they state that clearly in their ToS, someone producing this kind of content knows, that this is not the right provider for them ahead of time.
Someone producing adult content within the boundaries of what the guidelines allow did pick the right provider, so I don't see a problem with them becoming a prominent creator on the platform.
I should have probably said I don't expect or want them to micromanage the prominence of creators on their platform that do act in accordance with their guidelines. If for some reason figurines became incredibly popular and someone would complain that Patreon is basically just a platform for figurine painters, so what?
I don't know (I don't browse Patreon but just back some creators individually) but what would be the issue about that? Patreon is a content distributor and payment router between fans and creators, I don't expect or want them to police what creators do with that service.
The issue is not duct tape, the issue is having someone you can rely on to know what to tape.
Why not? I'm pretty sure they know roundabout what it would cost to tear it down, so why not see if someone is willing to buy it because they think they can get the work done cheaper and make a profit off the raw material.
If you don't need to support a family and are unhappy otherwise, why not?
Sure it's not 'the smart thing to do' but if it makes you happy and you're still not far worse of than most people...
While your complaint is valid, no need to separate in chunks, there's a checksum.
How is it any worse than say, VSCode in this regard?
I expected this comment to be made anyways, so I didn't even bother rephrasing.
If it helps you, I don't support the initiative. Doesn't change the fact that rental property is scarse, public transport is full and children/teacher ratio is horrendous.
It's just a buzzword to say limit immigration with rising population.
I'll leave out my opinion on the topic but Switzerland has become noticeably more crowded in the last 20 years.
Ironic that the site has the most AI (over-)design ever.
Awesome! Now I wish screensavers were a thing again.
IP68 doesn't require a sealant if you just use enough pressure. Phones are just too thin to screw on the back plate and use a proper gasket. Which is stupid in the first place because most people then go and put a bulky cover on them.
At least there's a choice there. I've never bought a computer with a soldered-on SSD.
As far as I know, Qwant indexes itself and substitute with existing crawler results, which seems a reasonable compromise.
Wars in the middle east seem to have increasingly regular patterns tied to stock market opening hours, unfortunately.
FFmpeg is a prime single-block-everything-is-built-on xkcd example.
It would be cool if it could be part of a text notebook. E.g. extended Mathjax syntax in Markdown that allows plot() or derive()
You are technically correct but also very wrong. Yes, it is a lot of pain to get the paperwork done and you have a high chance of being rejected without a good reason. I know dozens of people who run cheap, chinese IP cams recording public spaces directly to dubious cloud services here in Switzerland. You just don't ask.
Work related: We sell solutions including CCTV and video-intercom and we have only recently started providing customers with stickers they can use to make those installations comply with regulations. Technically, it has been the responsibility of the customer installing the device, so us doing this is just nudging people towards compliance because nobody cares. I can guarantee you that there are tens of thousands of cameras here filming public ground and it is not prosecuted. In fact, someone at the office put one up a long time ago for a PTZ demo (not recording) that was not compliant and it took almost 10 years until we got ordered to take it down.
Most of these are not recording, only recording situationally or only locally. Still not legal technically. However, ever since cheap cloud-connected doorbells have become available, they have definitely been installed here. They do not comply with regulations whatsoever and next to nothing is done about it.
I should have probably said: "[...] exclusive content which is curated on [the creators] Patreon and [accessible to the user via the web browser or] their app."
Hope this clears things up. My main point was that there is in fact an incentive for users to check the app beyond setting up payment and forgetting about it. Even if it is not the only way such content is available, it certainly is a convenient one.
A lot of people pay for the exclusive content which is curated on Patreon and their app.
This is not an accident. This is exactly why Apple (and Google also) have made the PWA experience bad for years. They must force users to believe their app store is the only source of programs.
