Same. It's nice to have something warm and tasty to sip on in the morning after getting to work. Makes that first hour of the day more pleasant.

It's kinda strange though...I almost never drink coffee on the weekend. It never crosses my mind after I wake up on weekends. Where as in the morning, before work, I can't wait to get in and start drinking my coffee.

This is a tough topic.

On one hand, people really shouldn't end up financially devastated after treating an illness. I'm sure we all feel some mental stress at the thought that if something catastrophic and unexpected happens we may be financially screwed the rest of our lives.

On the other hand...a lot of people do a lot of stupid things that I don't necessarily want to pay for. Smoking and obesity are two very costly life style choices (Note: I'm aware some people are obese because of medical reasons, I'm not talking about them). And I'm not sure I feel it's fair to pass those costs onto the rest of us who don't smoke and keep a healthy weight and keep our cholesterol and blood pressure and whatnot in a healthy range. Ultimately though, we could get way too nitpicky about "who is doing what to themselves and shouldn't get covered".

In a perfect world I think a non-profit health insurance system should be created that everyone has to buy into. On top of that, to keep costs down, the majority of people would try to stay healthy and doctors wouldn't be paid per test. However, I don't think anything we do will work unless we address why health care costs so much and start taking responsibility for our own health.

I don't see why there would be much of a difference. I mean...you either know something or you aren't sure/don't know it. If I know something I'll talk without hedging...if I'm not sure then I'll hedge.

Women are going to know more about stereotypically female tasks and men are going to know more about male stereotyped tasks...otherwise those tasks wouldn't be stereotyped to begin with.

And it makes sense someone would hedge more when they are talking to the opposite gender about something they think that gender knows well. If I don't know something and I think someone else does, I'm not going to talk about it like I know it.

I am definitely horizontal. Though I wouldn't say I'd forget a project if I put it in a filing cabinet (unless I had a bunch of projects and didn't have reminders written down somewhere). I just don't see a point to going through the work of filing something that I'm going to come back to eventually.

To me, file cabinets are for important documents you need to keep around and reference very infrequently (tax documents, birth certificate...etc) and not for things you'll be looking at multiple times during the week.

College is worth it. I think the real question is "Is spending 30-50K a year on your education instead of 10K a year worth it?". I think your average person could do quite well for themselves if they go to a state school or some other less expensive college. Most people aren't gunning to be the best in their field. If there is any difference in education between "cheap" and "expensive" schools I don't think it would make much of a difference to the average person.

I majored in computer science at a state school and spent around 40K on my education (room and board for 4 years). I feel I got a very solid education and was able to easily find a well paying job after graduation even without the shiny degree from Harvard (or some other fancy school).
