Yes but the discussion is about places in Europe that a night train can reach, are these price-subsidizing tourist places among them?
We both know that China's coal production is not the reason the tariffs are in place
And 'History' is under 'Bookmarks'!
And instead they choose to keep the browser diversity alive by taking away your right to choose (your browser in iOS). A sad state of affairs that this is the only thing keeping us from complete Chrome monopoly.
> because the models may potentially possess moral status and awareness
There is 0 chance they care about "ethics" here, it must and will be because of their bottom line. And I added quotes due to my personal belief that I consider the discourse about whether or not the models are sentient (or alive) to be incredibly dumb.
Realistically, how long would it take this company to comply with all the relevant regulations (even just the local ones) before it can fly with human passengers? I imagine new safety guidelines would need to be written for wherever this aircraft is permitted to fly.
> they stole the IP, then used public funds to make cheaper versions in the hope of leading the markets
If you steal my IP and you make a better - or at least comparative but cheaper - product, that's on me for not innovating further.
That's the kind of content I come to HN for, thanks!
The NSFW part definitely depends on where you live, Switzerland doesn't require it for example
If you want to support the creators is through affiliate marketing by buying whatever they're selling, or by subscribing to them on Patreon – they earn next to nothing from YouTube.
There are no gates anywhere in Switzerland, but one will encounter patrollers much more frequently in the trains (seldom in the trams/buses). I was flabbergasted by the low-trust look of the 2.5-meters high gates in the Paris subway
At least for now Reddit doesn't require neither phone number nor email address (I think)
Yes this is their reasoning, it doesn't mean we shouldn't hate the players and the game alike

IMO this is still relevant, everything surrounding the LLMs needs such a vast infrastructure that I don't know if I would find it more useful to learn the maths behind ML than CS
Similarly I often read ticket or PR descriptions written by Claude that are so jargon-heavy that I just can't understand on first try. On one side it's a reality check because I always considered English to be close to a mother tongue for me, on the other side I never had to deal with words like "idempotent"... (Seriously, when did this become one of the go-to words to use?)
I second this, it's still bad with calculations but good enough for some shell scripting that I can quickly verify.
What surprises me is that this (additional) fingerprinting is actually needed, in the sense of "don't they have enough from everything else"? Also, if I understood this blog post correctly [0], there is only 2 predominant values from this fingerprinting (?).

I guess the discussion would turn into a philosophical one about what the other person's conscience even means, and/or if other people are indeed conscient :)
I just held it in my hands today, its reduced height makes it fit much easier in the pocket. Overall a better form in my opinion, the price tag still too high for me.
This reminds me of a thought I had as a child, that what I see as one color could be what everyone else sees as another color: this had blown my mind back then and thought I was a genius for coming up with it ^_^
Agree with this one and can vouch for it, for a while while living closer to nature I would start my day by drinking water and taking a walk in the forest, actively avoiding screens for my first hour awake. I need to find something similar to do now, maybe water the plants...
> I'm not convinced attention spans themselves have changed; I think it has more to do with the fact that people's brains aren't defaulting to daydreaming anymore when bored.
If my mind is not defaulting to daydreaming and rather asking me to find a distraction, doesn't this mean my attention span is worse?
Can anyone explain how they support all 3 browsers' extensions?
Bro please center-align the "not affiliated" line at the bottom :)

What on earth is he building?
I have a friend who is a confessed LLM-addict and has told me pretty much everything you mentioned (you might be my friend!), I just have a question I want to ask that I never do to him: Why do you feel the need to churn out so many "personal projects" if they burn you out that much? I think we can all agree on the exhaustiveness of reviewing tons of AI-generated code in our $JOB$ - then why extend this unpleasant situation to your whole day?
My non-English-native-speaker head of development, to whom I report, does 100% of his work using LLMs and doesn't even check if the code compiles, but somehow this isn't my biggest problem with it – it's the botspeak in the PR comments (or answers to my PR comments) that are so clearly not written by him, and the documentation that makes absolutely 0 sense sometimes even if I break it down. Just a word salad of "robust", "maintainable", "smoke test" that amount to absolutely nothing. And the "You're absolutely right, I fixed it" responses (narrator: he didn't fix it).
I used to have a lot of fatigue due to it until I stopped caring.
> There will _always_ be a pretty big gulf of capability between what you can do with a desk full of hardware at home vs a few racks of hardware in a datacenter
True, but this difference _should_ shrink with the hardware craze and we're able to buy memory (the biggest bottleneck at the moment) again, shouldn't it?
> 7 inches to the iPad mini's 8 inches
These numbers don't correspond to the screen size though
