But how do you prompt this smaller model to give back information? I've tried that in the past but didn't go well. What I do is to send written handoff files between models to pass context around, but only had good results with big vision models as well.
This is a common issue, and most developers I worked with are not aware of it until they see the performance issues.

Most people are not aware of how Dapper maps types under the hood; once you know, you start being careful about it.

Nothing to do with LLMs, just plain old learning through mistakes.

For some reason, it sounds like someone being held against their will, which is exactly how I feel about it too

I don't think diversity in a software ecosystem is a bad idea. Nothing is stopping Hugging Face from changing their terms and screwing us over
Re:Ollama v0.1.45 on Saturday June 15, 2024 @07:08PM (#40693366)
There are many pull requests trying to implement this feature, and they don't even care to reply. This is the only reason I'm still using llama.cpp serve instead of this.
Re:IDEs we had 30 years ago on Thursday December 28, 2023 @02:43PM (#38797668)
wow, i had the same experience. reaching my 40s and decided to drop all the cool kids stuff. i used to have emacs/scheme evangelist phases in my life, now i do all my coding using enterprise languages and tools.

i have never been so productive.

Re:Trump declares national emergency to build border wall on Sunday February 17, 2019 @03:29PM (#19186673)
How is it going to be worse? He's lowering taxes in the border and trying to convince Central American immigrants to stay in Mexico.
I've been working for the same company for 12 years, same role, same position.

Why did i stay? i was the only dev for like 8 years, being responsible for your work and not being able to blame someone for legacy code is an eye opener.

it makes you love your craft even more, i joined to start a port, turns out this porting process never ends (I like improving my own code).

The only problem with LiSP is the price! I recommend PLAI (https://cs.brown.edu/~sk/Publications/Books/ProgLangs/) if you dont have the money to spend.
Re:Learn C and build your own Lisp on Thursday October 29, 2015 @11:57PM (#10476082)
how did you handle the ambiguous syntax, i'm writing a logo interpreter right now? having a lot of problems with the inline command syntax.
Re:Will You Ever Be Able to Upload Your Brain? on Monday October 12, 2015 @01:03AM (#10372655)
Upload my brain, so people in the future can use it as a DIY kit for Artificial Intelligence?

This article sounds a lot like SOMA the video game. brain scans, uploading your brain, etc http://somagame.com/

No results found for this search. There's a reasonable chance that it's safe...

But you can never be quite sure. There are over 6,000 languages spoken in the world. Somewhere deep in the Amazonian jungle, "anal" could be an insult that gets you killed.

Web Programmer using Microsoft Stack. i do my hobby projects using Racket (mostly PLT stuff)
The finding app sounds like something i could use!
this might be a joke, but this is a serious problem i have as well.

i want to create something, but i don't know what to do.. there is nothing i need that is not already done, or at least thats why i think.

Re:Bootstrapping a Compiler on Saturday January 17, 2015 @12:16AM (#8903500)
i don't mind this approach, you can waste an entire day with parsing even for the simplest language, this goes right to the point.

"Parsing is mostly a distraction, because we want to study the parts of programming languages that are not parsing"

Re:Fear of Macros on Thursday April 17, 2014 @02:29AM (#7602246)
before this article i didn't want to touch scheme macros.

he does a great job by introducing macros using basic syntax transformers, every other tutorial failed for me by introducing define-syntax-rule before explaining how it worked.

Re:Realm of Racket on Tuesday June 18, 2013 @12:48PM (#5900399)
Thanks for the code, it saved me the entire shipping cost!
Mexico, it looks like you're taking this too personal, keep calm and happy coding :)
Like i said before.. this is not a world wide social problem, my college was almost half boys, half girls. The highest grade was a girl, why? not because she was a girl.. but because she was freaking smart.

Its like african americans complaining about racism, i don't get it.. they are the coolest thing on earth right now!! Ignore that uneducated minority and move on.

Gender problems depends a lot on where are you living.

That's not the case where i live in, why? because we do not care about such things, treat woman and man the same way. unlike the old american racism, in modern countries there are no laws that discriminate girls.. why should we teach our daughters to fight for something that's not a problem?

Education is all we need, why should they hide their code? they should be proud of it

That last paragraph is exactly the reason i hate this sexist talks, it doesn't matter if its the boys or girls that are complaining..

I don't know if that's the case in the place you are living right now but, if you think that being a boy or a girl its an advantage then you are part of that problem..

Boys will always be boys, ignore them and move on.

Re:Why It's Time to Sunset jQuery on Sunday April 14, 2013 @04:09PM (#5548078)
so you're saying that just by using jquery i dont have to test on every possible browser version and mobile too? i dont know what kind of jquery i been using but i do that everyday.
Re:Why It's Time to Sunset jQuery on Sunday April 14, 2013 @04:05PM (#5548063)
thats the exact reason i used to love mootools, but too many companies demand for jquery even if they arent going to do any coding.

before the library war started (prototype, jquery and mootools) i picked mootools for that exact reason, after so many lines written against that library i cant understand why jquery won in the end.
