Wonder by how much, if at all, this was inspired by or relates to the Ātman
full_circle.exe

Complete with all the vaguery, ambiguity, and `undefined`.

Who’d’ve thought sycophantic interpreters were what we were building towards up til now lol

Enrolling with/registering several devices. Webauthn is pretty cool if not a bit complicated.

For example, passkey on iPhone and on the same account register a second key such as a yubikey.

That’s how my github is configd, for example: my phone and MacBook can auth w OS passkeys. If I need to login on another host, like my windows host or in your example at the library, the yubikey is another registered hardware authenticator.

Worth adopting/looking into imo

It’s been this bad for a little while, iirc have seen a few of these pop up over the last few years. And that’s just for the few someone’s caught/documented

Why do you believe that?

Why do you ask?

Here’s what chatgpt could elucidate for you if it helps: https://chatgpt.com/s/t_6a132f9152ec81918cd7fd9814a63ba9

I think plenty is fairly wonderful as well, in case it doesn’t go without saying.

Like many things that involve craft, if done right it’s great. If not done with care, broadly speaking the outcome is worse than not using it.

Why do people generally love AI?

Good luck with whatever you’re after.

Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur

There’s a lot one could try and point to.

Do you really have no idea? Do you not find valid some disdain for such technology?

Surely you appreciate our lack of free will, and how I have no choice but to leave this comment in the void as a sticker for the both of us to have as a token nod to such an existence.
Re: on Thursday May 21, 2026 @12:08PM (#48225071)
One important facet of this is it’s not far from “giving unlimited juniors unlimited time…”

Where the limits are set by hardware for agentic execution (compute/network/storage) && inference speed

“Cursive knowledge”, as an old boss told me. Was incredibly ironic when he leaned into my misunderstanding.
Sounds necessary given they must to meet some utilization quota or risk termination.

Kinda like how cobras were bred once there was an incentive to turn in their heads lol

Re:Rob Pike: Tech industry losing its soul on Tuesday May 12, 2026 @11:18AM (#48109603)
Those of us trying to keep the soul in it seem to be losing the fight, if not lost already.

Do all roads lead to Rome? When will the snake finish eating its tail?

Re:An AI CEO said something honest: ExperiencedDevs on Monday February 16, 2026 @10:14PM (#47043287)
If 80% is “done by the AI”, who is responsible for the certain failure on behalf of the AI? Given inference often is, >0%, wrong — in a word… hmm.

How many 9s until you’re comfortable? Even then, knowing 1000 tasks could likely have at least 1 foundational issue… how do you audit? “Pretty please do the needful” and have another “please ensure they do the needful”. Do you review the 1000 inputs/outputs processed? Don’t get me wrong, am familiar with the “send it” ethos all too well, but at-scale it seems like quite the pickle.

Genuinely curious how most people consider these angles… was tasked with building a model once to perform what literally could’ve otherwise been a SQL query… when I brought this up, it was met with “well we need to do it with AI” I don’t think a humans gonna want to find that needle in a haystack when 100,000 significant documents are originated… but I don’t have to worry about that one anymore thank goodness.

Anyone have any thoughts on this path if using macOS? Been using it, seems to do the trick pretty well out of the box.

Re:Ask HN: Pivot from SWE to What? on Friday December 26, 2025 @01:14AM (#46389637)
It is a mindset thing insofar as my opinion is that there are more interesting things to practice with, sure. Grindy endeavors aren’t bad, just grindy. Given how much of the practical application side of that practice is handled by libs/pkgs @ runtime for a lot of product dev I’ve been involved with, it can seem a bit much. It isn’t so black and white of course, but this is just an off the cuff musing. I miss whiteboarding sessions, and I feel like the lc grind does a disservice to both sides of the hiring table in a lot of cases. Sure, “what’s a better alternative at scale” comes to mind, but I’ll digress lol
Re:Ask HN: Pivot from SWE to What? on Thursday December 25, 2025 @09:27PM (#46388660)
Are lc problems puzzles? Could see p.e. being close to that but lc has always felt so much more grindy and less creative.

Merry christmas

Oh and get sunlight. Morning and evening walks every day for me made a night and day difference. Not to trivialize burnout or depression. It is a… fickle thing, passion.
