Good for them! I used to have some similar magnets around my office. I can't recall the brand. The only issue I had with them was that the outer plating of the magnets would wear off very easily and made a huge mess. Did anyone else have this problem?

Re:Can You Fall in Love with Someone Through Text Message?
on Friday February 05, 2016 @04:08PM (#11044638)
I didn't read the article, but texts messages are a common form of computer-mediated communication (CMC). I studied this a bit during my undergrad, and one of its more interesting effects is that it does seem to be significantly easier to form strong emotional bonds when utilizing CMC rather than more traditional methods. A compelling theory as to why is that people generally tend to assume that the unknown elements of the person with whom they are communicating are likely to closely align with their own ideals until proven otherwise.

I think their choice of font is poor due to the kerning of the "gu" in "ragula", but I think the "D" stylization is extremely impressive. Whoever came up with that is very talented.
Re:How Your Brain Decides Without You (2014)

There has to be some degree of separation at some point though. For all I know, there could be more than one "me" experiencing life as processed by my brain at any given time, but the self cannot possible be the complete interface as a whole. If it were so, then the self could not continue to exist if a portion of the interface were removed, but it can, regardless of it being a less than optimal condition.

Have you tried DuckDuckGo? With the exception of maps and directions, I actually prefer their search experience to Google's.

I have been using Pale Moon x64 as my daily browser for years now. I have run into a few issues with extension compatibility, (ex: Greasemonkey has issues with versions newer than 1.15.1) but support is generally pretty good. I see it as a viable alternative to Firefox, but it could benefit from a little more mainstream support.
Re:Ask HN: Those who hired bootcamp graduates, would you hire them again?

I am at a similar level of experience and have been interested in learning more about programming, with the hope of pursuing it as a potential career path down the line. It is encouraging to hear about someone else's success. Can you tell me more about the program you used? What were you doing for work before the bootcamp?
Thanks!
