Re:Tomorrow Theme on Tuesday September 04, 2012 @05:45PM (#4476719)
I've been using Tomorrow Night for a while now and I think it's my favorite dark theme.
AFAIK, it was opt-in. I'm sure they (like me) just never enabled it.
Annotations have only ever led to less files for me
vim does understand Ruby. As soon as I type end, it automatically de-indents the line 2 spaces. Put this in your ~/.vimrc:

    filetype plugin indent on

On the contrary, I was able to go through all of the tutorials, follow 2 separate live-tweetings, and start looking into the source before the keynote was over; I'd imagine many here did the same.

Even better, a Google supported node.js with actors.

Thanks! I will take a look at these.

You raise a good point. I'd like to see more about testing Dart.
Re:Dart language on Monday October 10, 2011 @04:25AM (#3092822)
Weird that a systems language and a web language are different, huh?
Re:Dart language on Monday October 10, 2011 @04:22AM (#3092816)
Not sure exactly what your problem is since that code won't even compile

This works though: http://try-dart-lang.appspot.com/s/M1wN

It just doesn't have the syntax for maps that javascript has for objects.

Re:Dart language on Monday October 10, 2011 @04:13AM (#3092778)
I don't see a similarity either
Re:Dart language on Monday October 10, 2011 @04:06AM (#3092741)
I prefer languages without semicolons, but, for me, semicolons aren't a dealbreaker.
Re:Designers as Pawns and Useful Idiots on Monday October 10, 2011 @03:05AM (#3092564)
How dare we give someone the chance to volunteer their time for something? From now on, I say we force everyone to require monetary compensation for all time spent on any projects, even if it's something to which they want to donate their time.
Re:Android Issue 887: Unable to launch emulator on MacOSX 10.5. on Wednesday September 14, 2011 @01:09AM (#2994979)
"Simple workaround exists" maybe? I'm not saying this bug isn't a problem (especially for developers new to Android), just trying to guess what they might have been thinking when they declined it. People still reporting the problem 3 years later should be a pretty good indicator that this bug needs to be fixed though.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you wanted to do, but is there a reason you can't use os.path.getsize?

Re:Memoirs from a Disgruntled MBA on Tuesday July 12, 2011 @09:22PM (#2757390)
The first "haven" tripped me up until I read the rest of the sentence and realized that he meant "having". How do you get that wrong 3 times in a row?
Re:Memoirs from a Disgruntled MBA on Tuesday July 12, 2011 @09:17PM (#2757381)
But do developers really think that the bar has been raised because of that? None of the developers I know expect Google-like compensation from their employers. Sure, it will be harder to get the best talent because he'd have to compete with Google, but there are plenty of developers for whom that isn't the case.
Re:Memoirs from a Disgruntled MBA on Tuesday July 12, 2011 @08:45PM (#2757296)
I honestly can't comprehend someone writing #1 as anything but a joke. You're seriously upset that Google can afford to hire good talent and doesn't treat its employees like shit?

Also, "Shame on you for not squeezing salaries to cut your costs" is not a way to attract good developers.
