You might like another language called toaq (toaq.net) which is a tonal logical conlang, it has probably the nicest looking writing system I’ve seen
This is basically what Esperanto and Ido do, different word classes and in different letters.

Purescript has an erlang backend FYI
Re:A Road to Common Lisp (2018) on Tuesday June 07, 2022 @05:06AM (#31651644)
PAIP was my favourite, I recall not really liking Land of Lisp as I felt like the quality of the example code wasn't great, but I did enjoy the Dice of Doom implementation.

I remember playing with this years ago! It was really cool - looks like the underlying AI platform is still around http://nn.cs.utexas.edu/?opennero

Maybe have a look at Closh [1], a clojure based shell

Factor for sure
Re:Math.min(Math.max(num, min), max) on Friday August 21, 2020 @04:53AM (#24233254)
For casual readers, `dip` pops the top of the stack, executes a quotation, then pushes the top of the stack back on.

So this pops the max value off the stack, applies the quoted `max` word to the x and min stack values, then pops the max value back on the stack and applies the `min` word to the result and the max.

You could have a setting on the client that lets the user specify that that's how they always want to see images, I on the other hand might specify that I want to open them in a new window, or see a thumbnail until i hover over, etc.

Same with how headers are displayed (maybe i want folding or something), whether an ToC is displayed, colours, fonts, etc.

The point is that the user can decide all this stuff, without having to hack it around the author's own styles and scripts.

True, but before you visit that website, you don't know anything about how the site was implemented, or what JS is going to run, or whethere there will be a big autoplay video advert, etc.

When you visit a gemini URL, you know how it's going to serve you a limited capability, text based document, styled according to your own rules.

Have you looked at Pijul? I understand it has resolved the major shortcomings of Darcs.
Re:Ask HN: Why is programming editing text? on Friday July 19, 2019 @04:59AM (#20477134)
Well sure, but that's just the storage format isn't it? Is that important if you never interact with it?
Re:Solving Riddles with Prolog and ES6 Generators (2014) on Sunday April 28, 2019 @07:11AM (#19770479)
It’s the same thing.

I would guess the browser extension had no automatic logout configured.
Guile is a traditional scheme, its niche being scripting and extension of existing programs.

Racket is more batteries included, and comes with an IDE, a package manager and build tools. It self describes a a language creation platform and includes a typed language, a prolog like language and several learning languages, used in their book How To Design Programs.

I’ve used Racket at home and work and enjoy using it, but I prefer traditional Lisp syntax.

The book Paradigms of AI Programming is available for free on github, and implements something like ELIZA in Common Lisp.

I really recommend it.

I would really like the tabbing windows etc on linux, it would make using a single monitor much nicer...
Re:O2 'to seek millions' in damages over data outage on Monday December 10, 2018 @07:38AM (#18647425)
I'm with O2 and was affected, and they have messaged me promising credit of 2 days of my airtime bill.
Re:Clojure REBL [video] on Friday November 30, 2018 @12:25PM (#18570655)
Have a look at http://pharo.org/documentation (a modern smalltalk implementation), they have some good materials, also a discord server.

I think it's worth learning, even if you never use it.

Re:TKE: Modern Tcl/Tk-based text editor on Wednesday November 21, 2018 @03:41AM (#18501104)
Yeah these days TCL is JITed too, which will certainly help
Re:How Lisp Became God's Own Programming Language on Thursday October 18, 2018 @02:51PM (#18251053)
You can do all that with term-rewriting in Prolog, you can use a grammar to parse a file of arbitrary text and transform it into prolog terms to be executed etc
Re:10 years of gog.com on Wednesday October 03, 2018 @07:16AM (#18129175)
Play on Linux has a list of games that can be downloaded and wrapped directly from GOG.com from inside the app.
Re:A Brief History of the BEAM Compiler on Friday August 03, 2018 @10:02AM (#17679906)
You might be interested in the idea of Web Prolog, a language being written by Torbjorn Lager. It aims to provide similar concurrency features as Erlang, but retaining the logic variables, backtracking and unification etc provided by standard prolog.

It's at a point where he needs feedback. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmNvxDEaLO4

Re:JSBeeb – JavaScript BBC Micro Emulator on Wednesday July 25, 2018 @02:57PM (#17611828)
I did a couple weeks of ‘work experience’ about 15 years ago at school and I spent some time playing with one. They gave it to me at the end of the last day, I still have it in my attic... it’s probably the reason I work in software.
