Is this comment meant to be ironic? The removal of physical buttons a main cluster for the driver and the lack of a HUD are all terrible UX decisions. People believe it is all part of the grand "autonomous driving" meme but the reality is that all cars that have been purchased today are going to be used up long before level 4 autonomy is passed through the legislation.

Can someone give me a quick rundown of Facebook's involvement? I get that they are the driving force behind it but what does it mean in practice? Do they have any power over the currency and its flow? Is Facebook governing the currency? Are there privacy concerns and if so, how do manifest in practice? Is it tied to Facebook stock or something, if not then what's the point?

Jim Keller apparently not only worked on Ryzen but also on an arm CPU named K12 [1] until 2015. It is likely that AMD still has the blueprint for that CPU stashed away to focus on the x86 market but still have a plan b if arm becomes dominant.

This is kind of the reverse of what I would want.

I want to use html/css/js to create my front-end, Although it is more resource intensive then Qt, it is simply more flexible and has a much richer eco-system to rely on.

Meanwhile the usage of chrome as a run-time is one of the worst parts of electron as every app consumes a lot more memory than a "native" application would need. These days Chrome is so highly sophisticated by now you could easily call it an OS. It comes with a lot of baggage from a Driverstack for Sound, Joysticks and Accelerometers to a whole suite of debugging tools.

Don't get me wrong. Electron is good for what it is: a way to easily write portable apps which can share codebase with a SaaS-Platforms. I would just wish developers would have just taken a different approach e.g. using a more striped down version of chrome or maybe even use Firefox/Servo.

Scales to weigh fruit/veg? No at leas not in Germany. The scales are built into the barcode scanner of the register. They only have scales so you can double check when you are shopping.
