I'm guessing supply chain and repair and troubleshooting and a lot more things. the Macbook Air now comes with a single board and a daughter board for the headphone jack. when it breaks the service replaces the board reducing any time (money) wasted on troubleshooting like ssds etc. also it allows apple to make their manufacturing a lot more streamlined. the more complicated the assembly (yes even an ssd means additional assembly and tests then you gotta provide support for third party ssds etc and troubleshoot that etc.). Adding more parts means the more complications and more chance of failures not less.

my point was that the author uses an example like search and called go not an easy language. so i was trying to give an example where it's not necessary a linear search or search is trivial ...

Linear search if it's not sorted. If it's sorted binary search will be much faster. So you need a flag for the function to tell it to use one of the two. This is why writing generic functions can be tricky. Programmers may use something inefficient just because it makes their lives easier.
Even i wanted to thank you for your contribution. I enjoyed your Apple 5w adapter teardown which I think is still popular. Wonder if the new 20w USB-C apple charger is still interesting.
