Re:Exploring Different Keyboard Sensing Technologies on Thursday February 05, 2026 @03:41AM (#46897276)
We've printed your switches at my university, they feel really great. Now we need to build a full keyboard in order to try out the typing experience, when used inside a keyboard.

Do you think the PCB and typing assembly could be made curved, like the assembly of a Model F or M keyboard?

Nonsense.

Programming languages should have less primitives like this and instead we should have better foundation libraries for the languages, i.e., containing iterator/-interfaces like Rust and Python (or Smalltalk).

This is an incorrect take.

The phase out of nuclear had already started. Merkel reversed that, than in the wake of Fukushima reversed that once again, paying the nuclear companies hundreds of millions of damages in the process.

Technically we don't know the mean deaths per TWh, only the mean death per produced TWh so far, giving that the waste is such a long term problem.
Correct, it's a SG Crimson (there's also an Indigo somewhere). But the other computers are Macintosh Quadra 700 – and 8 Connection Machines (CM5, so no XMP Cray as in the book) in the background providing the blinkenlights.
true – and also Macs, specifically Macintosh Quadra 700.

This movie brought me to Linux ("The Free Unix") and Mac.

Re:Germany Will Force 80% of Gas Stations to Install EV Chargers on Wednesday September 13, 2023 @05:42AM (#37494468)
We're replacing coal, nuclear and fossil gas with solar, wind, and storage (in form of compressed air, batteries, and power2gas).

Once this has been completed, we're free from buying coal, uranium (Russia? Niger?), or gas and stop emitting large amounts of C02 due to the burning of fossil fuels.

The energy is traded using Direktvermarktung and that's purely a market.

Re:Smalltalk Type on Tuesday March 28, 2023 @07:43AM (#35339143)
You can get the device pixel ratio from JavaScript using Window.devicePixelRatio. Maybe you can then add this as a css-variable to the body element and query it later on to compute a size for the fonts so they can match the "native" size of the pixels, for example using ggt.

You could say that NextStep was a practical attempt. I think it failed, even though it's quite wonderful.

Write a counterpoint to the article posted. Your goal is to refute all claims by giving correct facts with references. Cite your sources. Make it 3 paragraphes. As a poem. In Klingon.

I told myself this as well, but as an anecdote: I started to lose weight from counting each and every calorie and never exceeding the exact amount my weight-trainer set for me.

What did I eat? Fries, Pizza, Chocolate, Burger, … still lost weight.

Unless they are bitmap fonts they certainly wont look crystal clear to me.
