News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

Well the entire Epstein thing was laughably poorly run.
If you were to run covert intelligence operations, you would want to embed yourself in the all forms of the media so you can suppress any stories before they come out.

That had always been the advantage of communism and dictatorships. When something needs to be done, you can just force people to do it.
The media is all lies and propaganda. Stop paying attention.

Google should switch to https://google/

They already own the .google tld and you don't even need a subdomain. See http://ai/

Re:The CIA’s outsourced torture is lost to history on Friday August 06, 2021 @09:18PM (#28094788)
Of course they have blackmail on all of them. Look at how poorly run the Epstein operation was. We saw how all of the senators sat silent, aware of what was going on, and did nothing.

But the real conspiracies you should care about are the ones that are obvious and boring. It's fun to think of crazy blackmail rings, which likely exist, but the others are more important. Like the government and politicians don't care at all about your health, they only care about maintaining power. The healthcare corporations don't care at all about your health, they only care about profit. Like the tax laws are purposefully so confusing so you have to pay money to TurboTax or someone else.

>we are no better than nazis

One thing you need to recognize is there is no difference between you and the Nazis. If you were put back in Germany during that time you would have become a Nazi. You are not special. You are human. Go read the book "ordinary men." And read it from the perspective of the perpetrator, not the victim. You must be aware of your capability to horrific acts and work to make sure it doesn't happen.

Much of what the media puts out is propaganda. I'd say a majority of what they release is propaganda.
Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to other people.
Give me one of your kidneys.
Re:Why are used cars so expensive right now? on Tuesday July 27, 2021 @06:12AM (#27970676)
Yes you can. You just have to shop around. I got well below MSRP out the door a few months ago.
Wait for them for what?
Yes. Worse things happen everyday in every hood in America.
Re:Is Eric Weinstein a Crackpot? on Wednesday July 14, 2021 @06:27AM (#27831507)
Eric's personal experience with Epstein is very interesting. https://youtube.com/watch?v=dJNjH4SP6vwJ
This comment is hilarious. It highlights Americans selective view of history and ignorance of what their country regularly does.

>People who offer comments on code beyond how to add material functionality (i.e. more inputs), make it faster, or decrease the code size are trash humans.

I strongly disagree. Making code more maintainable and easy to understand is very important. Enforcing style guides is important

Well one of the first things we do on Mars will be to deploy a GPS constellation so our robots are able to locate themselves.

Android, chrome, and vscode are all touted as open source by much of their functionality relies on closed sources binaries.
Re:Open Source Deep Packet Inspection Using Python on Friday July 02, 2021 @10:56AM (#27712335)
Is anyone doing deep (neural networks) deep packet inspection?
And forcing them to upgrade their equipment unnecessarily in order to keep them in debt.

How does this compare to Momato

I recommend you watch this lecture. It may change the way you think about people that question the narrative. https://youtube.com/watch?v=7LqaotiGWjQ

>The world is not black and white...it's very grey.

The more I read about any topic, the more I realize how true this is. I used to think in absolutes but now I realize how nuanced everything is.

I'm more interested in bringing back giant bugs from the carboniferous period. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthropleura

I have also thought about selectively breeding bugs in a high oxygen environment. We have made major changes to dogs and livestock through selective breeding. I'm sure we could make some giant bugs too.

Can I know your name, address, and phone number please?
Re:The 'Fuck You' Pattern on Monday June 28, 2021 @04:18PM (#27667420)
I had the same experience. I wanted to watch someone's podcast Livestream that was being broadcasted on Instagram (I don't know why they didn't just use YouTube). But I couldn't even create an account. I tried with my desktop and phone on different networks. It wouldn't work.
print tether, deposit it into an exchange, buy btc, tether is now back by an asset (btc), btc now higher in price, repeat
I do the same. I look at advertising and marketing completely different now. The enemy of propaganda is an educated public that is capable of critical thinking.

This is one of my favorite YouTube videos. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KewaCcYF9nY

The War on Sensemaking is a great series of videos on propaganda and the information ecology in the modern social media driven world. I highly recommend it.
