Re:Muse: Meta's personal AI agent, features and capabilities on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @05:25PM (#49617301)
It’s the life of a parasite. You don’t care if it takes just a bit from you. And it eventually protects you from worse parasites. (Like the us blocking china)
Re:Why Aren't Smart People Happier? on Friday August 21, 2026 @07:54AM (#49386747)
Mensa means “dumb” in Spanish. That’s evidence of how the smart can have so little common sense.

Re:Talking to 35 Strangers at the Gym on Monday May 04, 2026 @04:50PM (#48014792)
Or simply move to Latin America or talk to them. Socialization is natural and easy
We don’t need another company to hold our data and then change its mind later for the correct price.

Make the social network private, end to end encrypted, not harvested by your servers

Name it CloudPress
Great job! I’ll move to this if it has:

- good caching - GUI in spanish - a cli like wp-cli

good cache control is essential for news sites with 100k + posts

Re:Ask HN: How to Be Alone? on Sunday March 08, 2026 @10:13PM (#47304087)
Move to South America and let the problem solve by itself.

Why fight a culture that enforces individualism?

Just move to a place where it’s rare being alone.

People in mexico and south are just different

Re:Software Engineering Is Back on Saturday February 07, 2026 @01:29PM (#46926210)
Frameworks help you reduce to the point to irreducible complexity.

Not using a framework means creating and maintaining a new and bad one.

And the AI doesn’t even do that. They repeat and create new complexity

Yeah. The weakness in any democracy are “populist” Robin Hood politicians.

Re:Minimum Viable Blog on Saturday May 03, 2025 @12:16PM (#43880040)
The perfect minimal web is Astro Js and that’s because of images.

Mobile screens and desktop are fundamentally different. You can’t have small and big at the same time.

That is solved via the standard html img srcset

Astro solves that easily.

And Wordpress of course.

Im Mexico your family would lift you up but I don’t know about the us.

What I would do is just take my skills and find the most valuable thing I can offer.

Example: buy a security camera and offer “I’ll install it and teach you how to use it”

I’ll sell your car online.

I’ll create your online store and capture your products

Re:Ask HN: Where to Work After 40? on Thursday January 02, 2025 @04:59PM (#42579385)
Im 44 and program 1/2 the time than when I was in my 20s but I take better decisions so I’m twice as effective. Less rewrites. Less taking risks with the hottest framework in town. My apps just work and last long without rotting
