What does 'holding the mother accountable' look like to you? Some kind of punishment, that her children also suffer from?
I don't think people responding independently to something you post online is harassment.

Do you?

For example, if 500+ people replied to my comment here with why I'm wrong, I don't see how I'm some victim. People have their right to voice their opinions. I'd just ignore replies to that comment when I'm tired of engaging.

> A lot of the dogpiling is from people who come out and say some dumb shit and demand respect. When they get ridicule for their ridiculous take, they play the victim.

Literally victim blaming.

---

If you say something outrageous in the 'public square' and you get mocked for it by the public, how are you a victim?

I don't know why that would happen to someone trying to make a paint.NET clone, but that's also certainly not the type of post the person you replied to was talking about.

Yeah it seems most likely it's because someone connected to the administration just thinks they're cool.

Trying to find reason behind so much of this shit is a fools errand. Vibes based presidency.

If Ted Cruz has a problem with it, it's probably something good for the American people. Not sure I see the issue here.

Claiming your product increases the risk of extinction doesn't sound like something someone would do if it were just for fiduciary duty.

I'm assuming the winking emoji was used to indicate sarcasm.

My guess is that jacobgorm will not reply. I would love a reply, because I want to understand how others think.

I believe we'll be left to wonder.

Well I sure wouldn't have started another war.
Re:Gemini 3.8 Live and 3.8 Live Extended Thinking on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @12:23AM (#49722062)
A lot of my friends will say "Well, the google AI says this" so they're using it, and maybe they don't trust the answers, but I think the thing is that they're using it.

"It's AI but anyway", seems to be a way to use it, but not promote that your using it?

There's a significant amount of people in my friend group who don't like "AI", but everyone seems to use what google's doing, even if they add the "the AI said this" disclaimer to it.

Even the people who don't like 'AI', will still reference the LLM output, which seems like they're just slow to accept it, I guess.

Not sure if I'd use the term radical but there are other words which come to mind.
Just want to add that myself to the list of people who can't imagine calling 911 for a non-emergency. Never in my life have I heard anyone assume it's for that purpose.

I believe doomemacs.com has nothing to do with the developers either. Just more SEO spam or something.
I suppose I would, which is why I mentioned that while I had called it plagiarism, plagiarism (to me) seems like a subset of fraud. I wasn't trying to get in a discussion whether its fraud or not - either way I don't like it.
I had been waiting to see when Google and Apple maps will make this change. I believe both now do this "Gulf of Mexico -> America" rename, however I found that Comaps (which I learned about from someone on HN, shoutout to whoever that was) never did. I'm not sure how they decide on names, but it seems better than leaving it up to whatever the POTUS feels like at the moment.

If Trump renamed the state of NY to New Trumpland, would Google and Apple go along with it? Seems like they would. It's just embarrassing.

Agreed, and I've gotten into arguments at work when bringing this up.

I don't think I used the word fraud, to me its plagiarism, but I suppose that's basically a subset of fraud.

The worst part is that the biggest offenders are often management.

I believe that's an income requirement, not a fee.
Well, I hate to be the one to break it to you but they're not releasing digital versions, they're just destroying them.
Re:BMWs shows in-car ads for Spiderman on Wednesday July 29, 2026 @07:15PM (#49104316)
I don't think I could find a faster way to make an expensive car feel cheap than to bundle ads with it.
Some people always try to push the blame onto someone else...

Bringing out the classics huh?

Wow so no big deal then right?

Obesity is a legitimate health issue.

Citation needed, as I can’t find evidence of this.
Odd nobody wants to give direct examples of the political opinions/statements not allowed.

Lots of talk about them, but nobody will just say what they are?

Microsoft Word does this too. I've recently started manually uncorrecting these corrections in my writing because of this new implication that I used Chat-GPT.

Still less obvious than the emails I see sent out which contain emojis, so maybe I'm overthinking things...

Exactly. The only thing this does is allows the company to have fewer staff while making the jobs of the few who remain worse. Great product, can't imagine why the general public aren't thrilled about 'AI'.
> This is referred to as tayloring and it is not allowed.

Frankly, I'm going to assume that it's not allowed in the same way that speeding is 'not allowed'.

Thanks for posting this (possibly again) I use another site to browse HN and while I could find the flagged post's comments I couldn't actually figure out what they were regarding.

Getting flagged (even as a [dupe]) deletes the link in the post. For anyone that somehow finds this and is curious what it was, it is referring to the following substack post: https://whatwelost.substack.com/p/im-tired-of-stupid-people-...

Once again, all I can do is yawn. Same playbook different day.
