If they're actually on strike it means they have surpassed human intelligence.

Answer the question.
It is the move if you want to be Jensen's little bitch, and want to fuck gaming and computer ownership for everyone, forever.
Re:The dead Internet is not a theory anymore on Wednesday March 11, 2026 @06:33PM (#47343198)
The technology isn't inherently evil. The actual problem is the way our societies are set up, ironically incentivizing sociopathic behaviour even among members of a single nation, nevermind when geopolitics get involved.
So seeding will be legally enforced? Nice.
If I tell you to kill yourself and you go through with it, will I get into legal trouble or not?

That's news to me, got any good articles on the topic?

Not sure if I feel comfortable with Mecha Hitler being our representative to the rest of the universe.
Re:Don't fall into the anti-AI hype on Monday January 12, 2026 @03:12PM (#46593578)
I asked ChatGPT how much of the volume between sea level and the height of the highest building is taken up by manmade structures. It came up with 0.0007% and confidently claimed it's less than a millionth of a percent. When I called it out on the millionth thing, it doubled down.
Let's imagine I have a blog and put something along these lines somewhere on every page: "This content is provided free of charge for humans to experience. It may also be automatically accessed for search indexing and archival purposes. For licensing information for other uses, contact the author."

If I then get hit by a rude AI scraper, what chances would I have to sue the hell out of them in EU courts for copyright violation (uhh, my articles cost 100k a pop for AI training, actually) and the de facto DDoS attack?

Re:Migrating the main Zig repository from GitHub to Codeberg on Thursday November 27, 2025 @10:25AM (#46070074)
>it doesn't even have to be free software AFAIK, just the source has to be visible to everyone

With the implication that MS is free to harvest it for LLM training?

Lunar Lake had integrated RAM, right? Given certain market realities right now, it could be a real boon for them if they keep that design.

Re:A WebGL game where you deliver messages on a tiny planet on Sunday September 28, 2025 @10:38AM (#45404650)
I really liked the chill vibe and it ran surprisingly well for a 3D browser game. Are there any "secrets" besides the alien, space ship and the girl on the roof who talks about Three.js?
Isn't that actually SolidJS?

Re:Maru OS – Your phone is your PC on Wednesday July 30, 2025 @03:55AM (#44731826)
Linux may have won on phones, but free software did not, which is the thing that actually matters.

That was aimed at Dum-E, not Jarvis.

Some would argue we are already living Cyberpunk, just without all the cool stuff.

BTW, why single out "the EU block becoming regulatory" as something negative prophesied by Cyberpunk? I have recently watched a video about the timeline of Cyberpunk 2020/2077 (which is just one universe, granted), and the EU sounded like the only ones who had their shit together, even though they were facing sabotage from all directions.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is the pinnacle, especially with the FAForever mod.

It puts emphasis on strategy and gives a lot of options on how to approach a match. Micro can make a difference, but it's not make or break like in pretty much every other RTS.

On my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro with i7-13700HX I can disable undervolting protection in stock UEFI. The only problem is that Windows virtualization features get disabled when undervolting is allowed, and I kind of need those.
Re:Turbo Pascal Turns 40 on Friday December 01, 2023 @11:12AM (#38488356)
There's one thing I don't understand.

Whenever TP or Delphi get brought up, people wax nostalgic about how amazing they were, and that they are actually unmatched to this day in certain aspects.

I know the adoption of both got hurt by Borland's and Embarcadero's corporate shenanigans. However, FreePascal and Lazarus are reportedly just as good as Borland's products, but without the business issues. Despite that, they seem to barely get used. Why?

Oof, you appear to have struck a nerve there, friend. Have an upvote, as I agree wholeheartedly.
These books actually have an interactive software couterpart which came out in the 90s. It might be hard to get a hold of it legally and to run it nowadays, though.
Isn't Eufloria just a GalCon clone? There are a bunch of games like that, albeit without the plant theme.
Re:Computer History by Balenciaga on Sunday April 09, 2023 @09:28AM (#35502516)
I have also seen Versace and Gucci versions, maybe some others I don't recall. I think they chose Balenciaga because the name itself feels kind of unusual and it fits the wizarding theme.

That being said, if it's an actual marketing campaign, then it's been quite successful at least in my case, as I never even knew Balenciaga existed before seeing these vids... Then I took a look at what they actually sell and promptly concluded I would never buy from them, even if I had the money lol.

Re:Managers, Stop Distracting Your Employees on Sunday April 02, 2023 @04:28PM (#35414835)
I thought execs had to do all the cunty things they do because "it's their legal duty to maximize profits for the shareholders"? But suddenly it's OK to sacrifice productivity for the sake of power-tripping? Shouldn't he have been fired on the spot?
Outdated because it has been replaced by a better feature which has no equivalent anywhere else on the keyboard or mouse on other systems - as far as I can tell, not even Mac with its Unix heritage uses MMB paste.

Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V is superior. The shortcuts are easily accessible and you can use it to select and replace a specific part in the middle of text. If you try that with MMB-pasting, you will just overwrite your clipboard with the part of the text you select, due to the selection-to-clipboard feature.

The answers from your "quick Google" only provided solutions for specific programs, solutions with self-admitted performance issues and a solution for X11 when I'm on Wayland. At a glance, the latter two look pretty hacky too.

Lastly, stop putting words in my mouth. I have said my issue was that the "Middle mouse button is paste instead of autoscroll with seemingly no global way to change it" and "I just wish there was an OPTION to change them". It is YOU who is forcing your garbage defaults on me, without even a consideration that my preference may also be valid. Just another trait typical of the average Linux zealot.
