That's a real thing. Almost all of the wildly talented people in my life feel Impostor Syndrome[0] at some level. Three Panel Soul even did a spot-on comic about it [1]

Re:How Company Culture Demotivates People on Wednesday October 09, 2013 @01:56PM (#6522718)
Management culture is a big part of corporate culture. If the management culture fosters an environment where people spin their wheels on "everything's a crisis" projects and then see that their hard work is being ignored, that filters down into the personnel culture as well.

If all (or even a significant portion) of your managers need to get training on how to be effective managers, you have a cultural issue.

My wife pointed out is that one of the disposable lines in the article mentioned that until "talkies," movies were less of a "bread and circuses" pasttime - the illiterate don't get the full experience of a silent film.

Considering the storylines of many silent films, I'm rather amused to contemplate what that implies. Seriously, "Keystone Cops" is kind of like the "America's Got Talent" of its day - "Othello" it ain't.

You do know that the Gilette company basically INVENTED the disposable blade razor, and the concept of "loss leader" manufacturing and marketing, yes? [0] Making average guys feel that they could handle the chore of shaving themselves was always the goal. Creating tools for a service industry would have gone against 100+ years of corporate strategy. Not saying it's a GOOD thing, mind you, but your argument is kind of like taking a hog farmer to task because he's not growing potatoes.

I prefer straight razors. They're a lot of work, but not generating a material waste stream is totally worth it for me.

I noticed that in the article, it talks about the price of the handle and the price of the blades[0]. I looked it up and it's not a disposable razor, it's a replaceable cartridge head[1]. Which isn't as bad from my perspective. Same source for [1] also says that the razor's made in India[2], so it's going to have a much shorter maker-to-market chain.
