Re:The first Bitcoin Cash block has been mined on Tuesday August 01, 2017 @09:52PM (#14907261)
We still have to wait and see if segwit2x actually happens. I guess we don't have much longer to wait.
Re:The first Bitcoin Cash block has been mined on Tuesday August 01, 2017 @06:59PM (#14906280)
Bigger blocks take more time to process if they are stuffed with transactions that take a long time for a node to process because of quadratic hashing problems. A miner could make blocks like this and then also delay the release of the block to gain an advantage finding the next block. Also add in the whole asicboost advantage and the GFC lag and it would be a nice attack for the Chinese miners. It seems like this is why they want big blocks and no segwit.
Re:Analyzing Cryptocurrencies Using PostgreSQL on Wednesday June 28, 2017 @04:31PM (#14658051)
You can't record every currency transaction on a blockchain it simply doesn't scale. None of the altcoins have figured out how to scale either.
Re:Let’s not demonize driving, just stop subsidizing it on Friday February 17, 2017 @08:27AM (#13668112)
Electric bikes are becoming popular. They are fast and need almost no exertion.

Forced taxation is immoral since it violates the non aggression principle. You can still have voluntary taxation though.
Re:Bitcoin transaction processing takes up to 10 hours on Saturday March 05, 2016 @07:34PM (#11231866)
zcash looks promising.
Yeah but now these lawmakers get to pat themselves on the back for doing absolutely nothing.

Re:A Bitcoin miner in every hand on Tuesday May 19, 2015 @07:56AM (#9569359)
The company is named after the max amount of bitcoins so I think the VCS would get that bitcoins are limited.
Re:A Bitcoin miner in every hand on Tuesday May 19, 2015 @07:48AM (#9569325)
That is the only part that makes sense. The mining makes zero sense but having a secure wallet in everything sounds like a good idea.
Maybe they are tired of going to jail for no good reason?
Re:Stripe: Bitcoin on Friday February 20, 2015 @08:53AM (#9080371)
I guess you missed all the giant data hacks over the last year.
Does government itself work? I think that is what people need to ask themselves.
I get this on DO TASK: [genesis-digitalocean | Add the SSH key to DigitalOcean if it doesn't already exist] * failed: [127.0.0.1] => {"failed": true} msg: Access Denied

I cant figure out if the client id is supposed to be the token name when you create that in the control panel? I cant get it to work either way.

It is still illegal to buy a vibrator unless you have a doctors prescription in some places.
Re:Algorithm: The Hacker Movie on Monday July 14, 2014 @07:02PM (#8033750)
Covering the whole room in foil so the wifi wont leak. Major cringe. One of many.
Re:Algorithm: The Hacker Movie on Monday July 14, 2014 @07:00PM (#8033740)
Only if you have time to kill. Lots of really cringe moments.
Re:Tor exit node operator prosecuted in Austria on Wednesday July 02, 2014 @01:59PM (#7978504)
I think the people running exit nodes gave up on democracy a while back and for good reason.
Re:For Sale: 29,656.51306529 Bitcoins on Thursday June 12, 2014 @08:33PM (#7886859)

Re:Burn the Fucking System to the Ground on Wednesday January 01, 2014 @02:13PM (#6996084)
Most people dont realize the fact that every government collapses eventually. Every single one. You would think that gee maybe something is inherently wrong with the concept after so much epic fail.
Re:Bitcoin Comes Under Senate Scrutiny on Tuesday November 05, 2013 @09:41PM (#6680214)
I welcome all the USA has to throw at btc. It will only make it stronger in the long run and further erode any credibility the us gov has.
