That was all of history.

I know at one point Vizio TVs required you to install the app and enable location to be able to setup a new TV out of the box.
Yeah, that loads right up for me.
> Reddit has recently blocked access to old reddit without an account

Old Reddit still works just fine without an account.

It's also possible to break the 50,000 lines up into multiple commits and fake the commit dates, so this does nothing to prove a human wrote them.
Re:Jurassic Park computers in excruciating detail on Wednesday July 15, 2026 @11:17AM (#48922183)
The book came out in 1990, the same year Windows 3.0 was released. Windows 1.0 was released in 1985 and 2.0 was released in 1987.
It's on Wikipedia.
> And now there are detailed locations of our cities

That has already existed for decades.

The authors are "the press". So they somehow pay themselves?

Apple definitely still has products that cross into the luxury brand category. For example the Apple Watch Hermès, which starts at $1249.

They've already proved themselves to be untrustworthy simply by ransoming you in the first place.

Veritasium just did a video on this.

By that logic, Blender shouldn't exist because it devalues the skill of hand animated art.
That setting is available for each individual app.
Re:Your Backpack Got Worse on Purpose on Wednesday April 15, 2026 @12:22PM (#47781325)
I have an Osprey backpacking pack that's about 10 years old. I had a squirrel chew through the zipper on the removable pouch. I sent it off to Osprey to be repaired and they sent me a brand new pouch.

This is the exact opposite of reaching out to a broader audience.
The PS5 controller (DualSense) has a built in microphone and a trackpad.
The mobile app definitely has mark as unread. It's the envelope icon next to the trashcan (the exact same icon as in the web interface). Never realized there was a report phishing option. I just mark those emails as spam, which is available in the app.

But there is no need to know what it stands for.

The Nest smoke detector microphone was never really secret. It was part of the monthly self test to determine if the alarm was working. It would send you a notification telling you it was going to sound the alarm and that it would be listening for the sound to confirm it was working.

It was listed in the features for the 2nd gen units. https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9229922#zippy=%...

Edit: That article isn't about the Nest Protect (smoke detector), it's about the Nest Secure, an alarm system.

Organic food still uses pesticides.
Re:European Alternatives on Friday January 23, 2026 @11:01AM (#46734071)
The UK is still in Europe. They didn't move from the continent.
That service interval is pretty common across all bike suspension forks (and dropper posts are usually only around 50 hours).

A SR Suntour fork has a 100 hour maintenance interval, for example.

Both Netflix and HBO already have ads.

A GMC Savannah is not a mini-van.
> EBS only lets you resize once every 6–24 hours

Is that even true? I've resized an EBS instance a few minutes after another resize before.

They didn't actually do a recall for that. Instead it was a "voluntary upgrade" program. That is also not a less serious issue.
The Europa Clipper mission saved $3B+ just by switching from SLS to Falcon Heavy.
