Works great in Chrome; Firefox has a border around each pic, since they're links.

Of course, it's horribly, horribly broken in IE. Then again, that goes without saying ;)

Re:25 years of Nintendo: My 10 favorite NES games on Wednesday October 27, 2010 @10:10PM (#1841405)
Maybe it's the nostalgia talking, but so many of those games were great! I could easily name 10 more off the top of my head. Many of these old games still hold up today.
Re:25 years of Nintendo: My 10 favorite NES games on Wednesday October 27, 2010 @10:01PM (#1841373)
Well, the article is about the author's 10 favorites, not the 10 best ever, or 10 most ground breaking, etc. So, basically an opinion piece....
Re:DHH: Appstore is a warehouse of shit on Tuesday August 03, 2010 @02:01PM (#1572045)
some people may not know that or notice the site being linked to, etc...
Re:The mod_python project is now officially dead. on Thursday June 17, 2010 @04:42PM (#1440275)
been unofficially dead for a while. mod_wsgi replaces it: http://code.google.com/p/modwsgi/
it's funny you mention BeOS, since it's now/will be HP's with the Palm acquisition.
Re:360° video from the inside of a stadium demolition on Friday April 23, 2010 @11:58AM (#1288405)
I believe this is Texas Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys, before they built their new stadium next door).

Here's a youtube video showing it from the outside: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydZCjwQRuQk

EDIT: better video

Re:360° video from the inside of a stadium demolition on Friday April 23, 2010 @11:55AM (#1288399)
That's what it looked like to me.
Re:Here's why Raphael.js and SVG totally rock. on Thursday April 22, 2010 @01:50PM (#1285828)
There's also gRaphael specifically for charting: http://g.raphaeljs.com/

Also, the article mentions that IE doesn't support the <canvas> tag. While this is true, you only need to add the excanvas JS library to use <canvas> in IE.

Re:Rapid-fire jQuery class series - 1st class Thursday Morning on Wednesday April 07, 2010 @07:18PM (#1248697)
Will these be made available for download? I'd be interested in attending, but the time doesn't work for me, so I'd only be able to view them after the fact.

Re:Google Wave and Spam on Wednesday September 30, 2009 @12:59PM (#853001)
kinda sad they didn't plan for spam better, since they bill wave as the second coming of email/jesus

if it takes off, spam will happen. gmail's spam filtering is really good (can't remember the last spam message that made it through to my inbox), so maybe they can borrow that from gmail.

Re:Coin Flip Brain Teaser on Friday July 24, 2009 @12:00PM (#721698)
because your calculation assumes that out of 100 flips, heads always gets 51 out of 100, which is not how probability works - it's not linear (for lack of a better word).

It's possible to be up $10 in just 10 flips, just as it's possible to be even at 1,000,000 flips (though neither very likely, but possible!). Also, the question asked "with a 99% certainty", which your answer doesn't take into account.

If you had a coin that when flipped had these odds, and you wanted to try this out, your answer of 500 would be a good rough estimate, but not the answer.

Re:Lamson - email app coding without the palm sweat on Friday July 03, 2009 @10:47PM (#686837)
i know email isn't the cool thing to do anymore as far as connecting online, but in business, i think it's still king.

i'd have serious doubts about someone wanting to correspond about business matters via twitter, facebook, etc.

so i'd say that, no, mail is not something outdated and should die - just another form of communication that has it's place.

Re:Ask HN: Events in San Francisco in October? on Thursday June 18, 2009 @02:10PM (#663833)
there's always the computer history museum in mountain view, if you're just in the area for a few days.

also, when i was there, i found a lot of the typical "touristy" things fun and interesting - fisherman's wharf, street car stuff, Alcatraz, Golden Gate....even just walking through Chinatown.

hell, if the weather's nice while you're there, rent a car and drive down the PCH - one of the most beautiful drives in the entire country. there's more to life than computers :)

Re:Ask HN: Please review my new project: almost.at on Monday June 01, 2009 @05:54PM (#636876)
hate to add a "works for me" post, but try it in the firefox 3.5 beta - it has the new javascript engine, which makes this run very nicely.

It was speedy in google chrome too.

Re:Do you get less wet if you run in the rain? on Friday May 22, 2009 @11:22AM (#622177)
didn't the mythbusters test this in one of their first couple of seasons? iirc, they did, and came to the same conclusion
Re:Another Scott Adams business idea: Home servers on Friday May 15, 2009 @11:32AM (#610740)
LinuxMCE/Pluto Home can do this, according to their websites. However, I don't have any experience with it personally, so i don't know how well it does everything.
