And vice-versa for decimal on ipv6 if desired, I guess?

This is a fine sample of Cunningham’s law in action.
No, we just want a choice on how to license our work.
The next logical step is to have speakers for the backyard to simulate the wildlife that no longer exists.

There may be a fraction of this, but the great thing about science is that it is verifiable.
Or domain leasing.

So are jobs.

Re:MapLibre Tile: a modern and efficient vector tile format on Monday January 26, 2026 @08:07AM (#46765165)
Accuracy where it matters is why. Do you have a better suggestion for projecting a sphere onto a rectangle?
Re:/dev/null is an ACID compliant database on Thursday October 23, 2025 @06:41PM (#45688321)
What’s the I/O throughput of /dev/null ?
How is this any different to downloading and running a binary?
Re:Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (February 2025) on Monday February 24, 2025 @01:54AM (#43156527)
I'm working to make private hosting easier. I've been running a software development agency in Melbourne for 10+ years and have been building this platform in the background to help automate and standardise the hosting needs for our clients.

We're now getting ready to launch a web portal for others to manage their own private hosting in a simpler way. The product also includes a directory of off-the-shelf applications which can be launched in a few clicks (eg. Deepseek chatbot).

Re:Open-R1: an open reproduction of DeepSeek-R1 on Tuesday January 28, 2025 @06:13AM (#42851093)
It will be very interesting to see if they can reproduce a similar model on the shoestring budget claimed by Deepseek.
Re:Ask HN: Organize local communities without Facebook? on Tuesday January 21, 2025 @10:52AM (#42781474)
Exactly, is OP really the one who should be influencing others preferences? Most couldn’t give two shits about the technological perils that await them just over the horizon - and should you really be the one to inform them of those horrors? Just relax - and embrace the book of faces. The movement will be swift and relatively painless, mostly.

Should have reviewed their content with chatgpt before posting. Maybe next time.
Re:Veo 2: Our video generation model on Tuesday December 17, 2024 @04:38AM (#42439851)
Comments like this one are so predictable and incredulous. As if the current state of the art is the final form of this technology. This is just getting started. Big facepalm.
Re:Show HN: Outerbase Studio – Open-Source Database GUI on Wednesday December 04, 2024 @10:14PM (#42324488)
Could you please add an option to enforce the use of transactions within the SQL input?
Re:Nvidia to join Dow Jones Industrial Average, replacing Intel on Saturday November 02, 2024 @10:07AM (#42026480)
It’s interesting. They have had plenty of time and resources available to mount solid competition. Why haven’t they? Is it a talent hiring problems or some more fundamental problem with their engineering processes? The writing has been on the wall for gpgpu for more than 10 years. Definitely enough time to catch up.
Re:Apple Mobile Processors Are Now Made in America. By TSMC on Wednesday September 18, 2024 @06:53AM (#41578120)
Someone must police the rules of the market I suppose? Also, a truly free market benefits those who own the market, no?
Ok? Sounds like a personal issue.
It’s so funny to me how confidently incorrect this comment is.
Re:What is going wrong for Intel? on Saturday August 03, 2024 @11:39AM (#41147211)
Optimistic to think that the current price is cheap.
Interesting way to frame these management tactics, but the conclusions don’t seem to have much support from the rest of the context.
Re:Why Vivaldi won't follow the current AI trend? on Friday July 05, 2024 @03:55AM (#40880645)
We’re trying to deprecate the brain.
Yet another reason the digital world is marching towards a closed-by-default model.
Re:I Received an AI Email on Wednesday July 03, 2024 @04:11AM (#40863828)
This is why the internet as we know it is going to be driven into walled gardens. Closed by default.
lmao, I was thinking this was bullshit and you’ve cemented that position. We’ve entered the grifting stage of this AI cycle. Salut.
There’s a big difference between a one off replica and person-as-a-service.
Seems like fraud would be a more likely charge.
Re:ChatGPT for Teams on Thursday January 11, 2024 @07:19AM (#38951244)
We shouldn’t, but we do. Get over it and accept reality.
