has it been shown that a salary would actually remove the incentives for corruption? maybe for some but greed is a strong incentive.

The current recommendation is in this region, yes. The bare minimum is 0.8g per kg. But that is survival mode.

I am generally not a huge fan of the historical line of thinking. 6 generations ago you died significantly earlier with not a great health along the way. It is a very recent development to live to (avg) 83. Would the strongest man in your region perform at a high level if he wasn't doing manual labour and died at 95?

What's your protein intake with that diet though? A person with 80kg needs around 120-160g of protein a day (depending on activity etc), that seems tricky if the source of your protein is non-animal based.

Use a local rubbish model to extract text. If it doesn’t find any on the back, don’t send it to chatgtp?

Terrascan comes to mind

Yes but I use OmniFocus for habit learning or reminding myself to take eg meds. Taking 7 meds or supplements in 20 seconds is doable :)
How much of that is being „forced“ by competition and the free market?

More apps doing roughly the same but none doing anything well or exceptional well? Yet resources become more spread and hence sparser?

Hear me out but maybe spend the cruise money for getting coaching from a psychologist/therapist to help you with feeling anxious at home? That doesn’t sound like a great overall attitude, having stress responses at home and work related

Separate your work and personal phone? It seems not the healthiest of companies to work for. If you can’t set boundaries, might need help by using. A second phone
Re:Why I Prefer RST to Markdown on Wednesday July 31, 2024 @04:31PM (#41123127)
What do you use for the actual, non-quick documentation?

Markdown is pretty bad for note taking, it has a niche functionality suited for basic text based note taking. Unfortunately that isn’t the only note taking that is possible

Re:Show HN: macOS Reminder Sync for Obsidian Tasks on Wednesday March 20, 2024 @01:43PM (#39769811)
i disagree. extensible is super duper but even that isn't great with Obsidian from a dev perspective. so the product "Obsidan Plugin API for devs" is also lacking.

and core features should be in core (dataview for example). what is most shocking though is that sync and publish are horrendous implementation of said features. i would kind of get it for other stuff but together they are 20 bucks plus tax per month. just now sync has 'merged' a note on my iphone (no changes on iphone though) and completely scrambled the note. same with another 3 notes. if i did not check the note by chance now, i would have missed it.

the entire UI around a sync feature is bad.

> There is already a growing ecosystem of tools that are Obsidian-like, and if Obsidian ever went down an unpalatable path, those tools are ready and waiting.

can you name a few? i have currently installed and enabled 65 plugins. Granted, that is mostly because the obsidian team does not know how to build a good product, leading me to use plugins. but even then, the functionality is not that bad (templater, book search, dataview, loom, custom file explorer/command palette etc)

how do such things attach files and let me view them?
i think you just learned about scale and number of sales (and age of software).

If money is of no constraint I guess nothing. Otherwise moving is not easy anymore
Denser housing only helps so much though. You need to increase street capacity, increase public transport, more doctors in the area etc. And yes, neighnorhood character is real.
House ownership statements are always with a location in mind. I want to walk or take public transport for 15-20 minutes to have most medical docs around, multiple different cuisines, park etc.

What i do not care is a 2 car garage. That already implies a lifestyle i really do not want. So where wpuld i move to in the US?

Can you explain how you use it? Every time I try to use it for programming, the output is somewhat nonsensical. I also tried copilot but that was even worse (for terraform and python)
