I found his video a little "managerial".
Webit is starting to provide rendering and animation that is more native and more efficient.

Simple fact is, Flash is not as good as we need it to be.

Re:Heroku is down for the third time today on Tuesday October 26, 2010 @07:17PM (#1836556)
Even if you hosted your own server and it was just serving one static file, there are still services you depend who could cause an outage.

Heroku so far has not had major outages.

And they will be learning from the current ones.

Re:Mac OS X.7 "Lion" preview on Thursday October 21, 2010 @12:37AM (#1814303)
Did you hear that Steve Jobs once say a desktop App Store was a bad idea?

Touch Screen would work fine on an Air, at least.

Apple cannot stop Indie devs from releasing apps in the normal fashion.

Unlike with iPhones, where iTunes is the only installation point.

If I was an indie developer, I'd say 30% would be worth the extra exposure.

Lion is a year away. I think we can guess the next iteration of the Air will have touch screens :)

Also, there are probably a hundred other details to Lion they aren't sharing just yet. They are just giving us some glitter to drool over.

What kind of traffic are you getting so far?
Re:Ask HN: Heroku or Not? on Wednesday September 22, 2010 @12:11AM (#1715142)
Heroku doesn't stop you using Mongo, Redis or S3. They actually promote these things.
Re:Review my weekend HTML5 project: DropMocks on Sunday September 19, 2010 @09:00PM (#1707378)
I like how it changes the dimension. But converting to PNG is massively increasing the file size?

"Original file was: 137724 bytes Transmitted size was: 844176 bytes (due to base64) New file is: 633131 bytes"

Re:Rackspace Shuts Down Koran-Burning Web Site on Thursday September 09, 2010 @07:28PM (#1677327)
I understand why

.... except..... there are about a billion images, jokes, articles, sites degrading Jesus Christ and advocating destroying Christianity

Lots of companies adjust the truth in promotions?

When was the last time you saw a shampoo commercial with real unaltered hair in it?

Do you think Nokia shows the download delays in their ads?

Do you think Sony show an actual tv display in their ads? Is it not easier to overlay a perfect picture onto the screen in post production?

Are McDonalds burgers really perfectly round and tidy?

Re:Antenna designer writes about the iPhone 4 on Thursday June 24, 2010 @11:13PM (#1459884)
"Putting this iPhone 4 in your pocket will likely couple more energy into your body (you bag of salt water, you) than did the first generation model. Yep, I predict it will be worse."

I hope this isn't dangerous to your health.

He is buying one, so I assume not.

I agree with Peter Cooper. That is all.
I don't want to look.

Can someone describe a little bit... not too graphic...

(I've been mostly vego for over a decade and definately have lapses, and I drink milk often... but often I think about going totally vego.... it's not always easy with the way food is promoted in our lives)

Re:Robert Love: iPhone OS 4 and Multitasking on Monday April 12, 2010 @09:55PM (#1260974)
Could someone explain how switching between apps looks instant.... how is that done if the app is not running in the background?
Re:How Adobe should respond to Apple on Sunday April 11, 2010 @09:26PM (#1258115)
They should just accept HTML is becoming the more appropriate foundation to the multimedia web, and stop trying to control it via their dumb plugin.

They already can do it, to some extent: http://www.9to5mac.com/Flash-html5-canvas-35409730
