Re:Ask HN: What hardware are you using to run local LLMs? on Monday November 02, 2026 @01:46PM (#50341599)
Upgraded from a 3060 12G to a 4070 12G.

Re:Android apps running native on macOS on Monday October 19, 2026 @02:24PM (#50155993)
Can MicroG be ported?
Re:I built a programming language that LLMs can't use on Sunday October 18, 2026 @10:56PM (#50147849)
It would need to use a lot of slurs. Really bad slurs.
Yeah, it's every paragraph.
Re:Suicide rates highest ever among middle-aged men on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @04:25PM (#50094613)
To anyone with a degree not in software, you can pivot to a hands-on job. I'm a technician for factory equipment. AI is not replacing me for a long time.

Re:Reverse-engineering a $35 backup camera display (AMT630A) on Wednesday September 30, 2026 @01:37PM (#49911990)
Classic bit of reverse engineering. I love how detailed your readme is.

Re:PipePipe: NewPipe hard fork implementing SponsorBlock on Saturday September 26, 2026 @04:12PM (#49860112)

Re:PipePipe: NewPipe hard fork implementing SponsorBlock on Saturday September 26, 2026 @02:02PM (#49858968)
Because the algo, despite everyone's objections, is pretty good at recommending videos.
Re:Salesforce Global Outage on Thursday September 17, 2026 @02:43AM (#49737207)
Sure, but it's already integrated in the Field Service app we already use.
Re:Salesforce Global Outage on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @04:31PM (#49732574)
My boss recently added a custom integration to allow us to log hours on jobs. It includes GPS coordinates so we have proof of our whereabouts.
No, we really do. Do you ever get a song stuck in your head?
Re:Splash-free urinals (2025) on Monday September 07, 2026 @09:36AM (#49598306)
Water and chemicals spent on cleaning. Less splash means less cleaning.

The chart literally says it accounts for inflation
The lite is hackable with enough effort. You could probably sideload updates and such.
Re:Google shuts down Nobel Prize winning AlphaFold on Wednesday July 29, 2026 @01:40PM (#49100581)
That has nothing to do with the fact that the article is inaccurate.
Fentanyl is used in hospitals for pain management, so yes.
Generating SVG code and generating an image are two different things.
They patched it.
Re:Windows 11 25H2 – I'm so happy to not be using this on Wednesday June 17, 2026 @05:38PM (#48577274)
>For example, the author is complaining that Windows "forgot" his PNG file association

No, Windows really will mess with your file associations after an update. Recently happened to me.

Re:Use your Nvidia GPU's VRAM as swap space on Linux on Tuesday June 02, 2026 @09:47PM (#48378811)

Re:Use your Nvidia GPU's VRAM as swap space on Linux on Tuesday June 02, 2026 @08:26PM (#48378086)
RAM disks have always fascinated me. In a different timeline every PC has a 100gb of RAM and 50TB HDDs are the norm.
KiCAD is pretty good.
Re:Who will buy your services if you fire us all? on Monday May 18, 2026 @08:42PM (#48187863)
HN used to be even more libertarian than it currently is.
Re:A nicer voltmeter clock on Sunday May 17, 2026 @02:34PM (#48171814)
