And in many others they’re small czars of their own kingdoms. However it’s always nice to refresh parliaments with new educated people, with new progressive political movements, shatter old alliances and practices.

For me it didn’t find a file on GitHub with exact file name, but found it via llm summary.

What’s it based on now?

There have been countless reports of various malicious activity from these TVs (and not just Samsung).

Well, person didn’t have a dog and then they suddenly do, and that will be noted by the device. I don’t understand the downplaying here, even though it’s correct that these people not necessarily know what they’re doing. The device does collect information about you and does listen (all while costing thousands of dollars). And these spy features they announce are not a product for common users but for data companies.

Social media enables unseen before levels of fear mongering, misinformation and astroturfing. There are so many “issues” that were created and inflated to rile up voters it’s insane.
Funny that this linked website has shit ton of ads every single paragraph. It’s like the worst kind of cooking website.
Re:Airbnb bans making guests do dishes and take out the trash on Thursday October 22, 2026 @06:34AM (#50193540)
Airbnb charges a cleaning fee.
This indicates engineering culture where no one reads or checks PR and just merges as long as tests are passed.
Re:Imposing Sanctions on the International Criminal Court on Sunday October 11, 2026 @04:25AM (#50040839)
I’m not arguing with “the most powerful”, that’s correct at the moment; the ICC and similar international law enforcement were not established specifically to target USA hegemony.
The earned income/purchase paid tax only once, while the housing needs infrastructure to be maintained all the time. So some way to collect these (rising) fees is needed.
I’m not from the States, and I always wondered in discussions like this, why are the HOA fees so massive? What are they paying for? Like rough estimate these HOAs have multi million yearly budgets; is it just to care for common property? Private roads? Security and maintenance of gated community? Playgrounds? I don’t imagine HOA maintaining stuff like some hobby/club houses, regular events for kids/eldery?

That’s a bit of a americacentric view

How easy it’s to see a certain speaking point being launched into the media, it’s chilling.
Re:OpenAI Withdraws 3 Math Papers on Thursday October 08, 2026 @02:53PM (#50010299)
Yet to see, as a few big sweeps he did (with various problems), are still sitting unmerged after 2-3 months, with a dev from another project reviewing them and a hardware lead reviewing the idea.
Re:OpenAI Withdraws 3 Math Papers on Thursday October 08, 2026 @02:32PM (#50009960)
My company hired a junior dev that was helping a senior one, then after layoffs and financial issues senior was fired, and junior left to pick mission critical code with a stick and codex.
IIRC it had something to do with the type of fuel that was in use. There are aircrafts that reach pretty high temperatures during flight and they usually don’t leak fuel that much on the ground. Do correct me if I’m wrong.
Hopefully it won’t be leaking fuel anymore with modern engines

People are people, LLMs are a commercial product. IP in question wasn’t not used according to its license, while researchers in general access it within licensing agreement terms.

Here we have a commercial product that is produced using IP against its licensing agreement, contains said IP within it, and can (closely) reproduce this IP.

Re:Weeping whales: Stillborn humpback whale grieving documented on Sunday September 20, 2026 @03:35PM (#49779220)
Doesn’t mean we have to eat people or murdering animals. A rare person beats himself up for eating salad, but I promise you majority of people around you have various reservations about murdering and hurting animals and people. Growing up in some cultures and being fed abstract clean pieces of flesh just allows people to compartmentalize.
We got? We didn’t get anything last time I checked, we are offered to pay rent to access this intelligence, at a discount

Do what? Customer searching for a physical book will do print-on-demand or what do you mean? Most customers will go with a cheap and convenient option
Re:A Note from LWN on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @10:39AM (#49537009)
I’m occasional lwn reader and I had no idea there are subscriptions there!
Why not? It’s the same as everywhere else, it has men. Just knowing that places like Kiwi Farms exists is enough evidence of good number of garbage people
Really depends if company has some spyware installed. My work MacBook was just given me as plain new MacBook that I installed everything myself. Personal iCloud, work OneDrive, no corporate spyware
Don’t be mistaken, climate refugees will be white as well
I imagine huge fake monoculture forests are partially to blame, besides climate change
Re:EFF to Courts: Don't Rewrite Copyright over AI Hype on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @03:02PM (#49526459)
Removing copyright will benefit parasites and big players more than small artists and businesses. Big businesses won’t have to eg obtain any licensing to publish someone else’s novel or technical book.
This reads like a very good dramatic catastrophy movie. This is very alarming.
How much water usually cost in dryer regions of USA?
