Phenomenal news! Lots of interesting startups in Africa are starting to get recognition. Wouldn't be surprised if Jumia is on someone's radar
They paid $75 to folks to cover for thousands of dollars of losses because of their incompetence. Hope they get hit with $100million fine, at least
Why are these companies not investing in Africa in players like Jumia I wonder?
I'm surprised they haven't been hit by antitrust laws yet.
I am also in the process of converting my units to section 8.

Re:Uber cuts 3000 more jobs, closes 45 offices on Monday May 18, 2020 @02:16PM (#23226259)
Whoever is still being recruited by uber or close to an offer better make sure they have a solid severance clause written into their contract! Nothing less than 1 to 2 years of pay.

Unforgivable. Moving funds to Schwab. And that's saying a lot
Re:More Than 750M Worldwide Would Migrate If They Could on Friday January 31, 2020 @01:44PM (#22204262)
Completely agree. SF is starting to see its set of socio-economic and cultural challenges and the situation might get worse before/if it gets better. A city of 800k can not take the bunt of 2M people without there being consequences. Local Govt policies aren't helping either.
Re:23andMe lays off 100 people as DNA test sales decline on Thursday January 23, 2020 @06:11PM (#22133350)
Lots of layoffs happening recently: 23andme, stubhub, tripadvisor etc. Early indicators of a tech bubble?
Wouldn't be surprised if they moved minerals like uranium etc. to willing international buyers.
Break-ins, cost of labor, homelessness. The plight of SF restaurants is dire and the situation might only get worse. Far cry from what the situation was 20 or so years ago. Companies like cloudkitchens are poised to take advantage of the situation

I pay 7% and the property management takes care of renting out, collections, notices etc. They have a list of contractors to do work but I always seek out multiple bids.
