Re:Why AWS loves Rust, and how we’d like to help on Tuesday November 24, 2020 @01:54PM (#25201639)
I think the parent commenter meant as a selectable runtime at deployment time (i.e. directly supported), rather than requiring the bring-your-own-runtime setup that is currently required.

Definitely blocked in my office.
Re:Show HN: My new SaaS side-project, after years of open source on Tuesday September 18, 2018 @10:51AM (#18015808)
Your subheading text "Build and publish instantly your projects online" reads a little strangely to me. I'd recommend re-wording that to "Build and instantly publish your projects online".

Looks neat, though!

I feel like it was created just to make this sentence possible. Love it!
Re:Open-sourcing Teletraan, a code deployment system on Friday February 12, 2016 @02:44PM (#11089924)
Thanks, appreciate the updated link
Re:Open-sourcing Teletraan, a code deployment system on Friday February 12, 2016 @02:31PM (#11089814)
Title is a bit misleading, should be more like "Pinterest announces intent to open-source Teletraan, a tool for code deployments"

EDIT: Xeroday helpfully pointed out that there IS a link to code in another blog post in the same series.

Last year Sean Le Van said he was 13, this year he's 14. Which is it, Sean?!
Re:SolidOak, an IDE written in Rust on Tuesday March 10, 2015 @11:20AM (#9178183)
I think that's debatable... with the currently humongous list of available plugins and it's project-focused interface, I don't think it's much of a stretch at this point to identify it as a lightweight IDE.
Re:Ticketmaster Ticketfast Barcode Format on Tuesday September 16, 2014 @08:18PM (#8327824)
I think it's generally abbreviated that way because it's phrased "Shit Outta Luck"
Re:404 Simulator on Wednesday July 30, 2014 @04:55PM (#8110887)
On the landing page, bottom right: "A parody of simulation games for geeks".

Interesting... my corporate firewall flags your site with an adult-and-pornography filter. Did you recently purchase the domain from someone who may have been running a different type of site? :)
WebStorm is a solid javascript IDE, I recommend giving the trial a shot.
In what way is Maven a programming language? Is it simply to disambiguate other XML configuration from the build declarations?
Re:Handling CORS with Nginx on Friday May 16, 2014 @07:43PM (#7758568)
Quick suggestion: rather than having your headers return 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' '*';, you're better off echoing the requesting domain back, so that in the future you'll be able to maintain a whitelist of registered domains. Prevents usage from any-old-domain (though I realize you have authorization already built into some parts of your API).

I'm probably an awful person, but I laughed out loud when I saw this config key: DISENABLE_REGISTERATION
Re:How to be an open source gardener on Tuesday April 15, 2014 @05:23PM (#7594396)
I also read it thinking someone had open-sourced some gardening tips or planting layouts. Whoops.
Re:Why is speed at sea measured in knots? on Wednesday April 09, 2014 @12:00PM (#7560125)
Check out Black Sails, there's a scene in one of the later episodes of the season that portrays the measurement of speed using the chip board and knotted rope. The term "knot" immediately clicked for me when I saw that.
