you could argue they are more aligned, given they will more often act in the way they are instructed, given you are instructing it in a way a normal model would refuse. Alignment is how closely it follows your intent.
Re:OpenAI Should Build Slack on Sunday February 15, 2026 @10:54AM (#47024692)
pretty crazy, given what it stands for: "Searchable Log of All Conversation and Knowledge"

the only current archive on archive.is also has that. Watch this space for a complete archive, hopefully:

Dual boot seems like a more obvious recommendation? Or better still, play games on linux, except those that require kernel AC?
Re:Why I'm leaving Medium: AI policy on Wednesday October 02, 2024 @11:13AM (#41721467)
usually I expect an instructional article/blog post/etc to have actually been tried and tested. If it has the format of "I had x problem, chatGPT suggested solution y, it actually worked, here it is and a bit about why it works" then of course that's fine and good. But you'll only have to google a few times before you see a 100% synthetic SEO optimised useless article that does nothing but waste your time.
Re:Bionicle – my actual part in its origins (2015) on Wednesday September 18, 2024 @04:58AM (#41577447)
I believe they mean "Bionicle Adventure Game: Quest For Makuta (2001)" which has a Lego logo on it. I also cannot find anything on the site in question
Re:Show HN: Hacker League – Open-Source Rocket League on Linux on Thursday September 05, 2024 @10:54AM (#41457227)
plat 3 is really not that bad - how many hours have you played the game for?
there are many human males that turn to the bottle instead of women. Don't be so mean to the beetles!
Re:Magnets are switching up the (mechanical) keyboard game on Tuesday April 09, 2024 @10:49AM (#39980055)
you're telling me spending $400 to improve the sound of your keypresses isn't worth it?
Re:Video Game Module for Flipper Zero on Wednesday February 21, 2024 @06:24AM (#39452520)
yup, very annoying. Open devtools and delete the element and the page functions fine.
Re:We just launched Sketch Logo AI on Sunday February 04, 2024 @10:04AM (#39250700)
yep, all HN users agree on all topics. That's why there are never any disagreements.
Not enough "it's important to consider"
I can't believe the current state of things is so good, that I'd default to using the Proton version of a game over the linux native port.

Re:Networking for Introverts: A How-To Guide on Monday September 11, 2023 @08:55AM (#37466529)
I can only assume the fake conversation in this article is an attempt at humour, but it's not very funny. For a better starter question at an event than "Juicing up for the big keynote?" try making an anecdote about the day, such as, "that last talk was interesting, did you see it?" or going personal, like "that's a cool sticker on your laptop, where did you get it?"
Re:Turbo 8 is dropping TypeScript on Wednesday September 06, 2023 @12:24PM (#37407376)
My least favourite thing about vanilla JS is finding out at runtime that I made a typo. That's an annoying thing that TS completely solves, among many others. I really don't see how you could use TS for any amount of time and wish to revert back.

>Things that should be easy become hard, and things that are hard become `any`. No thanks!

Denouncing a type system because you refuse to use it correctly seems short sighted to me, but I am of course biased as a TS fan.

what sort of team are you working in where communication can be so infrequent?
Re:Midjourney Showcase on Friday July 21, 2023 @09:49AM (#36813724)
can you elaborate on why creating 2 accounts is such a turn off? Don't get me wrong though, I agree that discord is a horrible UI for such a powerful tool.

Re:Nintendo sued for “immoral” Mario Kart lootboxes on Tuesday May 23, 2023 @10:30AM (#36044870)
While I agree that their monetisation strategies are garbage, I think the Tour maps ported to Switch are quite good and novel. I prefer them to the rehashed SNES maps.
seems reasonable. Maybe this explanation could be present in the game when the user searches one of these blacklisted emojis?
is it just me or are thumbs up/down (:+1: and :-1:) not available?

Here's hoping Diana recovers from her ME/CFS swiftly.

Re:ShareGPT: Share your ChatGPT conversations with one click on Monday February 27, 2023 @07:28AM (#34955621)
to quote Tom Scott: "Telling someone about your fascinating AI conversation is like telling someone about your dreams. They don’t care, it just sounds like you’re hallucinating nonsense."
i think disproportionately more people would enjoy the feature being made native. There's no reason the third party app has to go away, fans could keep using it.
for m1 gaming, nintendo switch emulation works surprisingly well with ryujinx

meanwhile OpenAI are plucking Google Brain's best engineers and scientists. For the future of AI, this is disruption, not failure.

you can just spam the keyboard to stay afloat, memorizing green letters until you crack the word.
