Was it already spent or locked in offshore accounts?
Or given to other accomplices?

I stumbled upon the same line of thought. Many of the things we do nowadays to be happy were unavailable before — travel, buy, consume, etc. Does it mean humans long ago were less happy?
Any chance you know any readings tackling this idea?

Re:Ask HN: What keeps you from exercising?
on Monday August 22, 2016 @08:52PM (#12340547)
what keeps me from exercising is me.
i think it helps to have a partner or group to exercise with.
example, i am more inclined to exercise when my workmates or relatives invites me.
it also helps to have a purpose in exercising.
example, i dislike the commute home. public transit is crowded. traffic is congested. so i jog home. :)
nice perks!
can we have those perks even for a personal website? :)

honest question, what's the purpose of "off the record" or background briefings?
Skimmed the link but not sure if I understood correctly. Is it to get the story out but not having anybody quoted or being anonymous on who said which?
