Re:Ask HN: How are you taking care of you eyes? on Monday December 06, 2021 @03:01PM (#29464825)
I have felt this. I also think the increase in SUVs and SUV-like cars is raising the average height of these headlamps, causing more light to hit me in my lowered sedan.

Thank you for this eloquent wording, you've saved me a lot of time and energy in my responses to people who don't get this point.

Interestingly, your comment reminded me that I wanted to look into Mattermost and they have the Uber logo listed on their front page...

It started with a New York Times best-selling book a handful of years back, though.
The State of California has the same minimum wage for both tipped and non-tipped jobs.
I can sell anything, you know? You know how many times I fake on the streets? You know? You have to fake. The guys that don't fake, they're the ones that get it the worst.
Re:Ask HN: Have you ever regretted working on a product? on Wednesday November 21, 2018 @12:52PM (#18504533)
If people are going to go to fight until one side is wiped out, minimizing attrition and ending the war more quickly and convincingly may be seen as a measure to minimize casualty.

Re:Interface Hall of Shame – QuickTime 4.0 Player (1999) on Monday October 15, 2018 @02:31PM (#18222322)
Are you sure about that? On my Mac, the full-screen overlay shows both skip and scan arrows. The windowed version normally shows just the scan arrows. You can select an option to reveal the skip arrows when windowed. In none of the scenarios do the skip/scan arrows ever change function.

In that case you didn't paraphrase the quote so much as repurpose it.
Re:What Does Redux Do? (and when should you use it?) on Monday November 06, 2017 @05:34PM (#15639603)
For anyone who has read this post, I highly recommend you read through the comments--in my opinion the author has missed the point of Redux completely (at the time I am writing this reply), and there's a key thread in the comments section that tries to set things straight.
Re:Japanese addresses: No street names. Block numbers on Friday November 03, 2017 @11:32AM (#15619928)

Last I checked Korea is migrating to a system that resembles American addresses, but both systems are currently valid.
