That seems like a difficult argument to make because laws don't always align with ethics. Given the myriad of replies around this topic, it seems like opinions on the ethics of violating the ToS are mixed. It gets even more complicated when you consider that very few people have the time/skills to read/interpret such a complex and lengthy ToS. At what point is a company not morally complicit for taking advantage of the layman's inability to understand such a legal document? It doesn't help that the UI/UX seems to deliberately provide incentive for users to blindly accept.

I think whether or not it will actually be cheaper remains to be seen. Right now many AI products are still being heavily subsidized, thus the cheap or free price tag. Once these services decide they need to monetize, it may not be cost effective for most video games at scale. Maybe eventually these computations can (reasonably) take place on the client side, but I think that's so far away that we could very well see another paradigm shift by the time that's realized.

Not only that but from what I understand, a major nerve in your jaw grows closer to your wisdom teeth over time. So if you wait on a procedure like that until later in life, it increases the chance that the nerve will be damaged in the procedure, leading to a potential loss of feeling in part of your face. At least this is what I was told by my oral surgeon, assuming he wasn't lying to me for profit...

Not to mention how primary results become conveniently bungled (one party in particular comes to mind) when they favor candidates which are not particularly well liked by the establishment. The fact that the national political committees are private corporations doesn't instill much faith in the fairness of their electoral processes.

I used to work in a small computer shop and there were some (presumably) 60-70 year olds who I wouldn't consider to be computer literate in the least running Ubuntu and even other distros. There were at least a couple people who refused to use any other OS including Windows. One such customer always referred to their beloved Ubuntu as "Ukabuntu" for some reason.

I did this before in the past with a key off of eBay (no indication made by the seller that the key was not legit other than the suspiciously low price) and everything was fine until it came time to reformat and start fresh roughly a year later - at that point the key no longer worked and the seller vanished from eBay!

I certainly hope that is the case, but I remember the Nvidia CEO (it has been a while so things may be different now) saying they would not increase production because they were worried the demand surge was temporary. So long as crypto is profitable I don't see where any amount of production increase is going to stabilize the price. Maybe Ethereum PoS will fix this? Or will another PoW cryptocurrency just take its place?

US is also getting kids back to school but that doesn't mean the virus is under control here. At this point I don't think there is much of a reason to believe anything China is reporting to the rest of the world.

I mean the virus came from China so I guess they didn't do that great of a job of controlling it. Not only that but can we really trust the numbers China is reporting? They have been completely non-compliant with investigations which could have resulted in saved lives. Lots of people (most?) in the US seem to have the same brazen attitude of not wearing masks in crowded spaces. Not long ago CDC was advising that people who are fully vaccinated don't need to wear masks in crowded public spaces.

You're claiming that tenant protection laws are the reason apartments are kept empty? That seems like a pretty tall claim. Why would someone even continue to own a space that they feel they can't rent out because they disagree with the laws? Speculation on future prices is the only reason I can think of. Introduce a tax penalty for units/buildings vacant longer than X months. There would be more incentive for property owners to lease out units if it was costly not to do so. Eroding protections for the most vulnerable class of people doesn't seem like the best way to reduce upwards market pressure on something that basically everyone needs to survive.

My significant other owned a 2011 MBP and experienced the same thing... She didn't know about the recall and I didn't get a chance to investigate and find out until after the recall window was closed. I can't really avoid using a Mac for work, but for personal use it has definitely trained me to avoid Apple products when at all possible. She would concur with you that her 2011 MBP was a terrible investment.

Agreed... 2019 MBP here and the touchbar went toast in less than a year. At this point I'll never purchase an Apple product for personal use unless my hands are tied.

Because we live in a Union? The idea is that your state will be helped if the table is ever turned. Not everyone in Kentucky hates California and the people who live there. What you're essentially promoting is reducing the role of federal government, which is the same thing current Kentucky senators want. I'm sorry to be so blunt but to be honest your comment sounds hateful and ignorant.

So it's civil to engage in anti-competitive behavior which arguably sets back the progress of humanity ("pushing the world forward"), but not civil to use the word 'sociopath' in reference to such actions? I was always taught that actions speak louder than words.
