Re:Did Meta's Big Settlement Actually Help It? on Thursday August 27, 2026 @03:47PM (#49470228)
If harming kids does not move the justice system to set precedence, I don’t understand what else will. Meta settled without admitting wrongdoing, so basically the next company facing the same claims has nothing binding it other than I have spare 1.7 billion/year for the next 10 years. The payment is $16.7 billion spread over ten years against $60 billion in annual profit. The states had estimated a realistic verdict at around $200 billion. They took 8% of that. Settling is sometimes the right call. I’d still want to know why they thought this was the moment to take the deal.
Re:Nvidia agrees to acquire Hugging Face for $13B on Thursday August 27, 2026 @10:46AM (#49465746)
Is it time we have torrented version of models available for download ?
Re:The Hugging Face incident and the road ahead on Wednesday August 26, 2026 @07:06PM (#49457141)
So it’s okay to hack Hugging Face as long as we say we tried our best, and look at my agent, it’s smart enough to do what we asked for.
Re:Qwen 3.8-Flash-Next releasing tomorrow (125B a6B) on Wednesday August 26, 2026 @10:46AM (#49450142)
There is a finite amount of time left for these companies to become next Facebook/Google, hoarding our interaction and privacy will be a point of contention pretty soon. At that moment, Qwen will be the knight in shining armor.
We should remember the fact that LLMs had emergence doing one mundane thing. Now think what we would have if we do our mundane thing of learning something for the sake of just learning… Emergence.
Yes, it’s written like a crazy LLM, and no matter what rules and where you put it, it does not follow. It comes with advantages and disadvantages. I like brainstorming with Claude than Codex/Qwen/Deepseek or others; its gregarious nature provides more colorful ideas. But implementation and review are cataclysmic with Claude. Especially Opus 5, I purposefully avoid Opus 5.

What does that even mean :)
Thanks for good vibes. This is awesome
Re:Claude Code May–August 2026 weekly limits promotion on Tuesday August 18, 2026 @02:26PM (#49350249)
I had the opposite experience. Claude models and its harness feel like they are set to eat tokens for everything, especially if it’s ultracode effort. I have seen it spawn 6 agents and eat my 4-hour quota right in front of me. Codex is on point and follows instructions well even with max effort. I like my analogy of Claude being garrulous and Codex being laconic. If I see more limit hits in same sitting session, I have to rearrange my workflows. my experiments with qwen and deepseek have been good, cant wait to try glm and other models.
Re:Cursor launches Origin, GitHub alternative on Tuesday August 18, 2026 @10:39AM (#49346294)
Hahaha, so true. this is going to be such a pain. Allocate time and context for fight with git :)
What is it with Meta and destroying society in general? Zuck buys all the buildings in the block to have his privacy, but now wants to patent everyone else’s privacy who happens to be in the vicinity of his product. Researchers already found a dormant facial recognition pipeline quietly sitting inside the Meta AI app earlier this year, built and shipped without anyone opting in. I hope people have the power to sue if there are any recordings without consent.

Re:GPU Offload in Rust: Portable, Safe, and Fast on Tuesday August 18, 2026 @10:19AM (#49346007)
Hahaha, I have heard that argument. I generally love different programming languages. If you have written code a lot in C/C++ and have battle scars with security and null pointer handling, then Rust is definitely a breath of fresh air. It makes you feel why did I have to be even in that fight? It’s like driving stick your whole life in heavy traffic, and someone just handed you an automatic :) you didn’t realize how much mental overhead that was until it was gone.

Respect for addressing something that fundamental at the design level. If something deserves praise, it’s okay to praise it. Give it a try before writing it off as religion.

Re:Ahmad on X: "Anthropic's War on open source AI" / X on Monday August 17, 2026 @08:48PM (#49339738)
Hahaha, heavily down voted. Thanks I made a human written statement about this terse shit-post in another post :) Basically the argument is if human thought was transformed using an llm into a terse argument, don’t nit pick it, debate the argument and don’t attack the llm transformed human thought

> Totally agree with the core argument. I understand there must be some etiquette in the space of llm-writing where writers must respect the readers enough to edit and review. Also, pages and pages of LLM content is not something anyone should be proud about sharing. But we are in this world where condensing an argument is so easy that in the busy lives we live, sometimes some arguments are made with LLMs online. If those arguments are pages, I understand the backlash, but if it’s a terse argument, then I would urge others to address the argument made rather than categorizing them under AI;DR, it’s like ad-llminem in my view.

Re:GPU Offload in Rust: Portable, Safe, and Fast on Monday August 17, 2026 @06:42PM (#49338670)
I write all my code in Rust because I am a Rustacean. In many of my custom LLM inference engine projects, the biggest fight has always been bindings. I don’t want to maintain and write bindings; also, if I use an existing project that provides bindings, then I have to wait for the owner to update or fork it and then maintain it on top. It has been a big headache. Running Rust core on GPU sounds like something I will try from day one. Kudos to the team and will watch it closely.
Re:Ahmad on X: "Anthropic's War on open source AI" / X on Monday August 17, 2026 @01:28PM (#49334601)
Personal opinion: We are at a point where we cannot dismiss an argument because it was written using LLM and the longer message contains tropes. Observations of LLM-written content and communicating it is fine, but dismissing the argument seems irresponsible.
Love the concept, please spend sometime with UI, gives a sense that the reported numbers are not serious.
Re:Working with AI Feels More Like Leadership Than Coding on Saturday August 15, 2026 @10:02AM (#49310658)
I don’t agree with the leadership argument; it’s definitely management. But one of the most important aspects of leadership is communication.
One click agent run on browser, What can go wrong :)
Yes, I am tired of Claude and GPTs. I am ready to diversify my $300 per month on other vendors. Will try GLM. How was your rate limits and availability experience on $80 dollar plan?
Re: on Friday August 14, 2026 @08:51AM (#49298041)
Great work. Love the idea. I have been thinking along the same way, but for training. For inference, the waiting time might be turn off for users

OpenSerious about these OpenStuff claiming to be Open but they are openly not. Looking at you OpenAI
Re:Taste Is All That's Left on Friday August 07, 2026 @11:00AM (#49211516)
So you would trust a known writers word over non deterministic software ? I read New Orleans will soon let AI handle 911 calls, Hope the AI believes the calls are from humans :)
As a society, we have organized ourselves in a form where the marketers get the most cut than the producers of goods and services. It’s unfortunate and amendable with capable leaders
What can go wrong ? I hope sometimes people would stop and think the implications or at-least debate about it. If someone says “what makes you think it was not debated?” Then I would say it’s definitely not debated enough
Looks beautiful and great presentation of your efforts. Hope it lives up to its expectations. All the best
Re:Don't be a meat proxy on Monday August 03, 2026 @11:15PM (#49164038)
I keep cussing at it saying “don’t give me a wall of text ...” it just like eating tokens. It’s trained to eat tokens for anything. No matter what workarounds you use, claude.md/memory/skills what-ever you throw, after 2 exchanges it goes back eating tokens. I cant wait for an open model good enough like opus 4.8 where can control the gregarious factor

It was suppose to be “can”, mis-typed
These are some disturbing images. Are we suppose to not trust the skies anymore ? They are asking who is responsible, how is that a fair question and why is it not obvious ?
