In a day you have to be kidding me. You haven't ran any logistics.
Re:Amazon pushes up prices across the Internet on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @09:15AM (#50087262)
Yeah and it's not obscure or random stuff if it is in the Amazon warehouse that is in your town. That is the only way one day works they already have it on site.
Re:Pi.dev: You Said No MCP on Wednesday September 30, 2026 @03:06PM (#49912976)
Good to hear. We have our MCP Running inside Larkspur, an Oil and Gas Operater in OKC. It's been six months with c-suite use. Everything runs local models, the DBs (all three) Postgres w/ Tiger and Neo4j. The local models are for processing messy energy data. And the oil bros access the mcp currently from Claude.

Spec wise: Ampere 128C, 256gb, 4xa4000,& 7800x3d, 96gb, Blackwell 24gb, 4070s. Nvidia fiber and mirkotik. Working on RDMA (but isn't really needed yet, but we have it)

OS - Tumbleweed ARM headless, CachyOS x86 hyprland. It's been easier staying on the edge of the kernel with less abstractions.

Yes, modern is now old 1890s-1960s. Even post modernism is aging.
Re:Physically Immutable Optical Archive Libraries on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @01:18PM (#49524947)
We where just talking about tape and other long term back up for Langrange Point Cloud. Fun to see the lasers.
Worse then gambling at least I can take cash out. These are pure extraction machines. When I was part of a game studio startup all the VCs wanted the loot gambling games, some of the teams they funded hired casino guys.
Re:RISC-V: They Should Have Known Better on Saturday August 15, 2026 @01:03PM (#49312250)
Ah rants from a non designer. So Patterson and crew, don't know what they are doing? Yeah hard pass.
Yep got a classic down vote. Love you shadow people who hide behind their computers!
Hahaha calling Zuckerberg a negative externality on the world is hilarious you guys are too much.
Re:Oracle bans AI-generated code from OpenJDK on Friday August 07, 2026 @04:22PM (#49215758)
How is this enforceable?
Two thirds of most of the DC builds are not compute. So it's a CRE play the last leg holding up that mess.
Re:Hollywood Stopped Making Movies in Hollywood on Monday August 03, 2026 @01:00PM (#49158454)
Explains why I have slowly stopped watching live action. I can't stand the cognitive dissociation that needs to happen for me watch.

Simple one light is different in NYC and Toronto.

Re:Our position on open-weights models on Monday July 27, 2026 @07:23PM (#49076944)
Woof, talk about self aggrandizing.
There are rumors Qualcomm is going to buy Tenstorrent.
Re:OpenAI hit with lawsuit by Florida AG over AI risks on Monday June 01, 2026 @06:10PM (#48363322)
Classic oh we ran out of money lets sue to cover our issues, because its always the software's fault.
Re:Tech CEOs are apparently suffering from AI psychosis on Wednesday May 27, 2026 @01:34PM (#48297608)
I can see this as a CEO. I get spared because I build the hardware and live in the kernel. Example 4k to 64k seems easy until you realize you can still install 4k Nvidia drivers that will lead to memory instability and you find out the hard way. Then you redo it and it's fine. Dealing with overheating all the time because pretty much an AI box at full speed for a week gets thermal issues. But if I wasn't dealing with the physical substrate I would be the guy who says AI can do that without knowing the actual physical costs.
Re:I still prefer MCP over skills on Friday April 10, 2026 @11:09AM (#47719314)

Re:Your File System Is Already A Graph Database on Wednesday April 08, 2026 @11:16AM (#47691393)
Wow just strings in files. Are you jumping node to node via pointers index free?
Re:Arm AGI CPU on Tuesday March 24, 2026 @06:03PM (#47510101)
Yeah dumb name, but we will still use these we have been using Ampere in our office.
Re:Wayland set the Linux Desktop back by 10 years? on Thursday March 19, 2026 @10:07PM (#47449531)
Same here. Wayland has been fine. (Hyprland)
This has been fun we can task our nemotron-3-super model to run over night when our desktops are idle. 4070s and 96gb of ram works fine. Slow but does it's job.
Re:Language Model Teams as Distrbuted Systems on Monday March 16, 2026 @05:45PM (#47405371)
This is how we design at HewesNguyen AI. We are both MIS so once LLMs came out we where like sweet whole teams that can be tasked for one thing done well. Thank you Unix Philosophy
So the DOW is using it till the mid term elections?
Fun to watch my generation who was raised by helicopter parents turn into tank parents using scorched earth techniques.
The marvel cxl 2.0 ddr4 card Serve the Home used for kvcache speed ups. And I am personally looking forward to cxl 3 and memory coherence across my system builds.

Why is it bad for AI to replace an enterprise software layer? Other than invalidating past investments.
Re:OpenClaw security assessment [pdf] on Saturday January 31, 2026 @09:39PM (#46843115)

Re:SpaceX in Merger Talks with xAI on Thursday January 29, 2026 @03:15PM (#46815941)
One c suite is much cheaper and easier to control then two. Reminds me of many reversed mergers in oil and gas.
