It is for some people, it's not for some other. I could get overweight overeating carrots and lettuce if I was not controlling myself constantly.
FWIW I believe I got tinnitus after couple of months that decreased quality of my life substantially and probably irreversibly
I’ve cooked and eaten tofu that was acceptable, and tempeh that was slightly better. I’ve never had tofu that came anywhere close to plain chicken breast—just salted and fried—in terms of taste, let alone something I’d call extremely tasty.

So, I guess, question is, how do you make extremely tasty tofu? Do you have to get some tofu that is not available in Europe?

I'm not sure how is that relevant. My guess would be that saturated fat in butter is worse for health outcome.
So what's the evidence? I couldn't find anything. What do they not tell? I assume that macros in homemade and bought cookies are roughly the same.
Is there any evidence that those are any healthier? If I'm going to overeat the same amount of calories eating store-bought cookies or grandma-made cookies - is my health outcome any different?
Why is that a reason to cheer up? When I think about it, I’m miserable most of the time—and knowing that life was even worse for most people throughout history only makes me feel sadder.
Apostasy is not that quick or easy. Depending on a country the church can fight you on that.
From this post I'm not sure which of two parties is the one.

So now even fruits are not healthy? Are leafy greens the only food category we can eat without feeling guilty?
I'm rather thin and fit. I eat mostly healthy food with some unhealthy indulgences from time to time (cold cuts, fatty cheese, bread, croissant from a bakery). I eat controlled portions so I don't lose or gain weight. I'm hungry all the time and quite miserable. I spend most of my wake time thinking about the next meal. What life choice should I make?
I scrape all of the food, wine and beer recommendations that I find and display them on a map in a web app. I can see the list of all of the places that are closest to me: restaurants, wineries, ice cream parlors, breweries and so on. If the source of the recommendation scores places or products made by it it's part of the data and I can filter by the score. I probably spent many weeks working in it. I'd love to make it a business but I have no idea how to approach the legality of it. I use it all the time because I travel a lot.
Do you have any concerns about TVP being ultra-processed?

> For example, you'd dump it into a bolognese pasta sauce instead of ground beef and it comes out the same.

In my experience it comes out, kind of, edible but slight disgusting, with grassy, soy aftertaste and spongy texture.

Why? Why it's not better to enjoy why it lasts?

Unless you're traveling in pick hours and the train is so overcrowded that you can't even lift you hand inside...
On the other hand, I wish my happiness could be bought so easily too

The only problem is that is a miserable way to live entire life
I don't understand why selfishness comes in this context. I'm considering if and when have children because not doing it would be reckless and egoistical playing with somebody else's life
> because "meat" has meant one thing for thousands of years.

That's super funny that you wrote that because actually "meat" comes from Old English "mete" which referred to food in general.

I live in an 18th-century building with small windows that don't let in much sunlight during winter. The walls are 0.5m thick and made of rocks. I close shutters in all of the rooms except the one I'm working in. Despite this, the temperature inside can reach 32°C during the day. I can't keep the windows open at night due to the noise from motorbikes. So I can't sleep without AC and I can't cool down my apartment.
For me it's motorbikes instead of mosquitos. There is no way I could sleep uninterrupted with open windows

I wonder how rich you have to be to feel comfortable in such expensive t-shirts
> Our requirements for protein isn't as high as claimed by the majority of the fitness industry or actually meat & dairy industry. > Read the PCRM article about protein I posted further above, it has more info about this. PCRM is a group of doctors and other medical experts.

I find most research on the the topic to be of dubious quality. I know that when I have more protein in my diet I feel less hungry for longer and I eat overall less calories. Also I've been working out for couple of years with little to show for it. I worry sometimes that maybe low protein diet is a, or the, reason for that.

> Where are you based?

I live in a smaller, rather conservative city where it's hard to find anything but local cuisine.

> If you live in a region where you can't survive without meat or dairy then you've got to do what you have to do to survive.

I don't need it to survive. And it is something that I want to do. I just don't know how and I'm not able to find any useful resources.

> Plant based foods provide enough protein for athletes and body builders.

I'm sure that anything is possible for highly motivated individuals for whom eating enough protein is one of the main parts of their lifestyle. I just don't know how to translate it to everyday cooking for a family.

Tofu and other soy products are not easily available where I live. I'm not sure if doing extra driving or ordering online from another country would be net positive.

Nuts are protein dense only when you count them by weight (grams protein per gram) but not that great by energy (grams protein per kcal).

I could eat beans and lentils for every meal but that's from where the part about feeling terrible comes.

It sounds like a list of excuses but it is something that is actually, for me, a daily struggle and source of stress.

I'm eating vegetarian food most of the time, with an exception from time to time. I've tried doing vegan. Vegan food can be tasty or even very tasty. No vegan food is as good as steak or cheese. Another thing is that I have no idea how to eat enough protein, on vegan diet, without feeling terrible.
I've been doing calisthenics 3 times a week since 2019. When I skip a day I feel enormous amount of guilt and I can't sleep when the night comes. Still, I don't like every moment of doing the exercises and I have a feeling of time being wasted by tending to my body instead of doing something with my family, cooking for them or being creative. What's more doing the workout eats a huge amount of my will power and leaves me unwilling to do any other chore for that day.

Maybe that's because you were an asshole about it. For example calling them fanboys

Is this an American thing? I'm polish and this whole discussion is just mind boggling. I don't know anybody who would had such high (monetary wise) demands
I'm polish but I've spent a lot of time watching American tv and movies, with subtitles, from young age. I still have terrible Slavic accent
