That’s already happening, I’ve seen it in NHL games. The commentator typically addresses it because the broadcaster has a deal with the betting company and there’s a contractual obligation to make sure viewers see it and know where to get the app.

Xbox spent $70B for Activision-Blizzard not that long ago, going through a protracted anti-trust process so a $500m buyout would be acknowledging that they made a severe financial error

What is the gatekeeping in the games industry?
Quality free game engines have been available for years. Being a game developer has gotten so accessible that the market is completely jammed with titles and discoverability is very difficult.
I get the feeling from your post that you feel “ability to write code” was something put in place by “gatekeepers” but not only is that not what “gatekeepers” means, but software developers make up a small part of a game’s production team.

Why would they be locked out? The state before their changes would just be backed up and could be rolled back to. It doesn’t need to intersect with their permissions at all. Crucially, they just don’t have write access to the backups

Who actually considers a loop a branch? A loop is a chunk of code that will be run N times depending on some evaluation that’s run before or after an iteration. A branch is a single decision which of several pieces of code to run, once.

There’s also a big factual error in the submission title because the project readme has this caveat
